An elongated connecting rod is configured to be slidably received within the rod-receiving passages of two adjacent panels to secure them together. The lighting element may be disposed within the interior space formed by the base, side panels, and top.

Abstract: A low profile table lamp having a replaceable power supply and circuitry to power at least one light is provided. A bottom housing has a central cylinder with threads internally and an exterior mounting surface for a ring of lights. The bottom housing contains the battery, circuitry, light element and a switch. Included is a top cover having a post with threads externally to mate with the central cylinder inclined ridges and a top crown. Attached to the top cover is a light diffusion dish having a central orifice with a diameter greater than the outside diameter of the central cylinder for receiving the post. The crown has a surface of a greater size than the light diffusion dish covering the central orifice. The post is removably joined from above to the central cylinder for accessing the battery.

Abstract: Gas fire devices are provided that produce a swirling flame by passive means using the kinetic energy of gas exiting through burner ports located in a burner and the kinetic energy of air drawn through louvers or flaps radially positioned on the base of a plenum. Situated above the burner and plenum is a chimney, which surrounds the flame and may be a translucent or transparent material to help observers better see the flame.

Abstract: Hollow decorative tubing fabricated from thin walled metallic stock material, the stock material preferably being stock tubing. Tubing is cold worked to impart any desired design such as simulated bamboo having realistic culm and node characteristics. The tubing is preferably formed into serial or repeating sections, each characterized by the desired design. For simulated bamboo, a realistic node is worked into the tubing between adjacent sections. The invention may be regarded as a method for manufacturing the resultant elongate hollow decorative tubing or, alternatively, an article of manufacture such as a chair incorporating the resultant elongate simulated bamboo article.

Abstract: A sling chair includes a back frame member having side rails held in substantially parallel relation by a pair of cross bar members. In one embodiment, the cross bar members are generally curved so as to extend away from the back faces of the side rails, forming a concave back structure which can receive a sling member and, eventually, a seated occupant. The cross bar members have a notch allowing for insertion of a flexible rod and sling loop and sling member after assembly of the cross bar members and side rails. Insertion of the flexible rod and sling loop does not require tools. The cross members are adapted to retain the sling member in secure fashion through upper and lower backrest assemblies, resulting in better support and more efficient assembly. This also facilitates separate provisioning of decorative features to improve the chair's aesthetic qualities.

Abstract: A sling table is disclosed having a transparent top and a decorative fabric sling visible through the transparent table top. A frame defines an inner opening of a desired shape. The transparent table top is mounted to the frame in a substantially horizontal orientation. The fabric sling is mounted to the frame within the inner opening via sling rods. The fabric of the sling may match or complement fabric of other pieces of furniture, and may be replaced without having to replace the table top.
