Abstract: A safety anchor for construction having a mounting plate for mounting to a vertical portion of a structure; a vertical support member coupled to the mounting plate and extending upwardly therefrom; and, a tethering component at a top end of the vertical support member. In one method of use, a first safety anchor is mounted to a first side of a structure, a second safety anchor is mounted to a second side of a structure, and a cable is interposed between the first and second safety anchors.
