Abstract: A communication system and method, including: a hub, and a plurality of sensors, where each sensor is configured to transmit communications to the hub, where each sensor is configured to assign itself an index number based on signal quality of communication with adjacent sensors, such that sensors with highest communication signal quality with the adjacent sensors are assigned the lowest index number, and where communication is facilitated in a communication order that is determined based on the assigned index numbers.

Abstract: A system for monitoring for presence of insects in non-hollow trees, the system including a structural element configured to be driven into the tree's interior and bearing a vibration sensor; and a processor configured to receive data recorded by the sensor, to detect presence of insects in the tree's interior by analyzing said data, and to generate alerts accordingly.
Abstract: Methods and systems for counting insects in a container having at least one aperture, by attracting at least one insect into the container, using toxins within the container to kill the at least one insect, measuring signals by at least one sensor coupled to a receiving surface, wherein the receiving surface is configured to vibrate when insects falling through the at least one aperture engage the receiving surface, detecting that at least one measured signal is within a predetermined range, and adding the number of detected signals to an insect counter, wherein the predetermined range is calibrated to correspond to a range of signals associated with impact of a single insect on the receiving surface.
