    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the prevention of allograft rejection in clinical transplantation. Specifically, the method of the present invention relates to the prevention of transplant arteriosclerosis and interstitial fibrosis by stable and long-term expression of HO-1 in grafts. The present invention represents a novel therapeutic approach to prevent allograft rejection in clinical transplantation.
