  • Patent number: 5516390
Abstract: A lighting fixture body and a lens, both formed of plastic which generates gas when heated, are bonded together, using a hot melt adhesive with adsorbent mixed therein, thereby preventing foams from residing in the interface between the plastic materials and the hot melt adhesive. The hot melt adhesive is mainly composed of styrene-ethylene-butylene block copolymer, and molecular sieve or other adsorbent having adsorbing cavities is added to the hot melt adhesive. After the hot melt adhesive is filled in the sealing grooves of the lighting fixture body, the anchoring parts of the lens are set in the hot melt adhesive and fastened mechanically with spring pegs. The hot melt adhesive solidifies in the sealing grooves, thereby fixing the lighting fixture body and the lens together.

  • Patent number: 5296571
Abstract: An aminotriazine prepolymer is provided which gives resin with toughness and favorable transparency without use of filler agent by mixing 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (781 g: 6 mole), melamine (126 g: 1 mole), 95% by weight of p-formaldehyde (189 g: 6 mole as formaldehyde), p-toluene sulfonate (3.0 g), hydroquinone monomethyl ether (0.2 g) in a two liter separation flask with a stirring device, a thermometer, an air-inlet tube, and a cooling tube for removing the distillate. The mixture is heated while air is blown in. After the melamine and paraformaldehyde are dissolved in 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, at the temperature of 80.degree. C. to 100.degree. C., the reaction is continued in the temperature range of 105.degree. C. to 115.degree. C. until the quantity of extracted water is 108 g (6 mole). The triazine ring structure-containing methacrylate prepolymer thus obtained has a viscosity of 2,000 cP at 20.degree. C., a bromine number of 92.1 (Br g/100 g), and a Gardner color degree of not greater than 5.

  • Patent number: 4900770
Abstract: The present invention relates to the hot melt type seal agent for adhering and sealing a head lamp of a vehicle, wherein a lens and a housing are integrally one unit. The necessary component materials of the hot melt type seal agent of the present invention include a mixture produced by butyl rubber, SEBS block copolymer and olefin with high softening point. The hot melt type seal agent of the present invention withstands temperature changes in the head lamp and the gas pressure that is filled therein. Consequently, good adhesion, waterproof and high gas-tight performances are achieved.

  • Patent number: 4871596
Abstract: Artificial marble is produced by laminating a plurality of prepreg sheets formed by impregnating a porous substrate with a melamine resin composition which is composed of melamine resin and a modifier. The melamine resin is an unmodified melamine resin or an alcohol-etherified melamine resin in which formaldehyde-to-melamine molar ratio is between 1.2 to 3.0. The modifier is selected from alcohol, glycol, acrylic monomer, acrylic oligomer and vinyl acetate monomer. The artificial marble has a good stability in dimensions and it is suitable to apply the artificial marble to a composite panel or a decorative laminate panel which is free from tearing even after long time use.

  • Patent number: 4723593
Abstract: The room temperature control unit is provided with a switch for determining whether the room is vacant or occupied and if required with a switch for determining whether the room is cooled or heated, so that the room temperature is controlled while the room is vacant to be somewhat (e.g. 2.degree. C.) higher than a set temperature when the room is cooled, and somewhat (e.g. 2.degree. C.) lower than a set temperature when the room is heated. For that purpose, at least two common contacts are provided and they are connected to switch contacts in different ways so that one common contact is selected according to whether the room is vacant or occupied.
