Abstract: A method for collecting data comprising: at a user device comprising a sensor, the user device being capable of detecting by means of the sensor interaction by a user with any of a plurality of predefined user interface elements: generating a raw dataset from sensor data collected by the sensor as a result of a user input, the user interface elements with which the user has interacted being derivable from the raw dataset and the raw dataset including finer-level sensor data indicating the manner of the user's interaction with those elements; forming an obscured dataset by processing the raw dataset to obscure which user interface elements the user has interacted with and retain at least some of the finer-level sensor data; and transmitting the obscured dataset to a remote computing device and/or storing the obscured dataset at the user device.
Abstract: A method for identifying and/or authenticating a user on a device, the method comprising: requesting identification or authentication of the user for a first task; determining a first threshold in dependence on the first task; selecting a first authentication process from a plurality of authentication processes; determining a confidence score in dependence on a performance of the selected first authentication process, wherein the confidence score indicates a level of confidence in the user's identity; determining whether the confidence score is above or below the first threshold; and if the confidence score is below the first threshold, selecting a second authentication process from the plurality of authentication processes, otherwise identifying or authenticating the user for the first task.
Abstract: A method for selecting an authentication process for identifying and/or authenticating a user on a device, the method comprising: determining a first authentication process and identifying a sensor device configured to capture data for the first authentication process; enabling the sensor device so as to measure one or more environmental parameters; and determining, in dependence on the measured parameters, whether the sensor device is capable of capturing data sufficient for performing the first authentication process.
