Abstract: In one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a modular respirator comprising an elongate filter unit having a filter inlet, a filter a filter outlet, and a replaceable fluid filter for filtering pollutants within the fluid. The elongate exhaust unit having an exhaust inlet, an exhaust outlet, and one or more one-way valves. A mask assembly having a mask for covering the oral and nasal passage of a user, a mask inlet at one end of the mask, a mask outlet at an opposite end of the mask, wherein the mask inlet is releasably fastened to the filter outlet, and the mask outlet is releasably fastened to the exhaust inlet.

Abstract: A modular respirator comprising a mask assembly, an elongated filter unit, an elongated control unit, and a blower assembly. The blower assembly is located around the back of a neck of the user and housed in an air pipe, wherein the air pipe comprises an air inlet with a first female threaded connector at one end, an air outlet with a second female threaded connector at an opposite end. The elongated filter unit is located on one side of the neck of the user, wherein air flows into the elongated filter unit, and then flows opposite to the direction of the mask assembly into the inlet of the air pipe of the blower assembly, then flows into the control unit before flowing into the inlet of the mask assembly.

Abstract: A generic modular respirator comprising: a mask assembly having a first end and a second end; a replaceable main unit having a first housing with a first push-fit and twist-release connector to engage the first end of the mask, and a second housing with a second push-fit and twist-release connector to engage the second end of the mask; wherein the mask assembly and the main unit are adapted to perform breathing functions, such as breathing protection, breathing training, breathing measurement and diagnostics; such that the mask assembly is adapted to be quickly fitted to and released from the main unit by actuating the first and second push-fit and twist-release connectors.
