Abstract: A remote switch includes a fluid-containing tube connected to a fluid-sensing switch. A hot wire sensor detects changes in flow through the conduit tube and is electrically connected to breaker switch circuitry. Because the switch is responsive to flow, rather than pressure, the operation of the switch will continue, even if the conduit becomes punctured, cut or damaged. The device is particularly useful as a means for actuating a safety switch to interrupt the electrical power in an emergency.
