  • Patent number: 7266993
Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing a container as to leakage and defects. The apparatus is especially useful for testing plastic bottles because it does not contact one or more of the bottle sides during testing. A frame with the test components may be adjusted so that the apparatus will fit many different conveyor configurations and container sizes. A container is moved along by a conveyor, where it is sensed by a photo-eye to initiate testing. The test probe makes contact with the container opening, and travels with the container during testing. The test probe introduces air into the container and detects the maximum pressure and pressure decay. If the pressures are not within an acceptable range, the container is ejected from the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6473169
Abstract: An integrated leak and vision inspection system is provided that accurately and efficiently inspects a bottle or other container for manufacturing defects. The system provides a series of visual inspection stations with cameras and lighting that are integrated onto a rotary inspection system for on-line inspection of containers. A microprocessor in data communication with each of the inspection stations receives and analyzes image data of the particular area or parameter of the container being inspected or tested, and generates data relating to the container based upon predetermined criteria. The stations are arranged to provide an integrated and fully automated and efficient inspection system. In the preferred embodiment, the system is structured with a first station integrated with an entry starwheel to inspect the top seal surface of the container.

  • Patent number: 4264004
Abstract: A control system for an accumulating conveyor having a plurality of zones, wherein each zone includes an improved pneumatic logic module comprising a relay limit valve and an AND valve, the output of the AND valve being connected to a driving input of a fluid motor for transmitting power to the corresponding zone of the conveyor. A pilot operated relay valve is connected to the first zone and employed to release an item thereon. The control system can be easily modified to provide forward or reverse accumulation, and single or train release. Additional pilot operated relay valves are employed for selecting between forward and reverse accumulation and single additional pilot and train release modes.
