  • Patent number: 8377160
Abstract: A cyclonic dust collector arrangement employs a cyclone that has a conic body formed of a conic wall. An upper divider plate closes off the upper end of the conic body, with a vortex tube descending from a central passage in the divider plate. The conic body has a narrow nose at a lower end so that the upper divider plate and the lower nose define a cyclonic chamber within the conic body. The inlet conduit penetrates the conic wall below the divider plate. The fan chamber of the separator is mounted above the divider plate, and serves to induce air flow from the inlet conduit into the cyclonic chamber, and through said vortex tube into the fan chamber. The air is discharged through a final filter. This construction has reduced manufacture costs and improved dust separation.

  • Publication number: 20120055460
Abstract: An internally adjustable damper for use in a commercial kitchen includes a housing having a sidewall defining an interior, a first open end, and a second open end in fluid communication with the first open end. A damper blade is disposed within the housing and is rotatable about an axis of rotation to allow a selectable air flow resistance. An arch extends from the damper blade and adjacent to the sidewall, the arch being symmetric about the axis of rotation. A threaded stud extends from the sidewall into the interior of the housing and is disposed adjacent the arch. A fastener is operatively coupled to the threaded stud, wherein the fastener is adapted to selectively press down against the arch, thereby fixing the location of the damper blade, and retract from the arch, thereby allowing the damper blade to rotate about the axis of rotation. The fastener and the baffle are accessible from inside the housing through either the first open end or the second open end.

  • Patent number: 7992593
Abstract: An electrically conductive confined space ventilation conduit formed of a substantially rigid non-metallic conductive material, such as plastic, and a related process for ventilating an enclosure accessed by a manhole or other port. In one embodiment, the conduit has a pair of outer cylindrical sections and a central section having a cross-sectional shape of a crescent or a segment of a circle where it passes through a port to provide a minimum of obstruction for men and equipment passing through the port. Intermediate sections of varying cross-section connect the central section to the cylindrical outer sections so that the outer sections are offset from the axis of the manhole. The central section is preferably configured to obstruct no more than about 10 percent of a standard manhole opening, while causing either no air flow rate reduction, or a reduction of no more than about 10 percent as compared to the flow rate through a cylindrical conduit similar to said outer sections.
