Abstract: A method for joining two substantially planar fiber-composite structural components, includes stacking the two components on a support jig to overlap along a joining region. A lower component end section within the joining region borders a gap between the upper component and the jig, where the upper component is unsupported by the jig. The gap is bordered on an opposite side of the lower component end section by a filling portion of the upper component or a planar filler element supported by the jig. The lower component is joined to the upper component within the joining region by applying temperature and pressure to the components. A width of the gap allows the upper component to elastically deform along the gap under the pressure and bend down into the gap to abut the jig along the gap and thereby compensate thickness tolerances between the components during the pressure application.

Abstract: An aircraft fuselage is configured to receive two tanks designed to contain liquid hydrogen. The fuselage includes a first section for a cockpit, a second section for a passenger cabin and a third section (T3) distinct from the first section (T1) and from the second section (T2). The third section (T3) includes two housings each to house a tank. The two housings are arranged symmetrically with respect to a vertical plane of symmetry (P1). This arrangement of the tanks in a section distinct from the other sections allows them to be located as close as possible to the motors that they have to supply.

Abstract: A flow body for an aircraft with an integrated de-icing system. The flow body includes a front skin, an internal structural component, a lever having first and second ends, with an attachment point in-between, and an actuator. The actuator is spaced inside the front skin. The lever extends from the actuator to a front skin inner surface, the first end coupling with the front skin, and the second end coupling with the actuator. The attachment point is swivably supported on the internal structural component. The attachment joint is closer to the first end than the second end. The lever and the actuator apply an impulsive force in a transverse direction to the lever, such that the lever rotates around the attachment point, and such the first end urges the front skin to locally elastically deform for removing ice accretion from an outer side of the front skin.
Abstract: A method for connecting two components is proposed where a pressure acting on an adhesive between two join partners is supported by an auxiliary body which rests on a cutout of one of the components. Both components to be connected together and the auxiliary body are covered by a vacuum film and once the air has been sucked out, the compressive force is generated below the vacuum film.

The plurality of fiber composite sublayers includes an electric energy store which is configured as a multilayer electrochemical fiber composite battery to store electric energy in a rechargeable manner; and an electrothermal temperature regulation sublayer which is configured to supply thermal energy to the electric energy store and conducting thermal energy away from the electric energy store as required to regulate a temperature. A control device, which is connected to the electric energy store and the electrothermal temperature regulation sublayer, is configured to control a temperature regulation of the electric energy store by means of the electrothermal temperature regulation sublayer.
Abstract: A device for manufacturing a composite component including a tool with a first and second sections forming first and second confinement surfaces, the sections movable relative to each other into and out of a fastening configuration. The device includes a closing mechanism with a closing section. In the fastening configuration, the first confinement surface and the second confinement surface face one another, and the sections and the closing mechanism are arranged such that a cavity is formed between the sections and the closing mechanism. The closing section is transferable from an open configuration into a closed configuration. In the closed configuration, the third confinement surface extends along a plane perpendicular to the first and second confinement surfaces, wherein, when the closing mechanism is heated from a first temperature to a second temperature, the closing section transfers from the open configuration into the closed configuration at a predefined temperature.
Abstract: A support stay is provided to improve failsafe configurations for movable parts of an aircraft. The support stay supports the movable part with a primary body and a separate secondary body. The primary body and the secondary body provide separate load paths. The secondary body is attached to the primary body by a mechanical connection, e.g., rivets. If one of the bodies becomes structurally compromised, for example by a crack, this configuration does not transfer shear load between the primary and secondary body, so that the other body does not become structurally compromised.
