  • Patent number: 4753844
Abstract: A disposable article for interim cleaning of hard surfaces comprises a non-woven substrate, carrying an aqueous cleaning composition loaded onto the substrate at a level less than about 85%, preferably less than 75%, of its absorbence capacity. The aqueous composition comprises: optionally, one or more nonionic surfactants, one or more anionic surfactants or mixture of nonionic and anionic surfactants; a water miscible solvent for oils, (preferably a low molecular weight alcohol or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone); and an alkalinity agent, such as ammonium hydroxide, in sufficient amount to maintain the pH of the extracted solution within the range of 8 to 12. The non-woven substance is preferably a non-chemically bonded fibrous material.

  • Patent number: 4725489
Abstract: A disposable article for light cleaning of hard surfaces comprises a non-woven substrate, preferably of cellulosic or cellulose-containing material, carrying an aqueous cleaning composition loaded onto the substrate at a level less than about 75%, preferably less than 50%, of its maximum absorbence capacity. The aqueous composition comprises one or more nonionic surfactants, one or more anionic surfactnats or a mixture of nonionic and anionic surfactants, a water miscible solvent for oils, (preferably a low molecular weight alcohol), and an alkalinity agent such as ammonium hydroxide in sufficient amount to maintain the pH of the extracted solution within the range of 8 to 12.

  • Patent number: 4630775
Abstract: A dispenser for releasing a volatile active substance from a carrier material that contains the active substance in liquid form in a receptacle is impermeable to liquid, said dispenser comprising a base circular part with supporting members for said carrier and sidewall sections on which an upper circular part with cylindrical sidewall, pierced by side apertures for the emission of the volatile active substance, is pivoted. The upper circular part has on the inner disc-shaped surface thereof one or more decentrally positioned flexible blades which are able to pierce the sheath of the receptacle containing the active substance or to impale it on a spike by rotating the circular parts relative to each other in order to activate the carrier material by impregnating it with volatile active substance.

  • Patent number: 4515768
Abstract: Heat-stable composition, destined to emit insecticidal vapors by being heated, which contains at least one insecticidal substance of the family of pyrethrinoids, a stabilizer chosen from among the compounds defined by the chemical formula ##STR1## in which R represents one or two optional alkyl radicals containing one to twelve carbon atoms, R' and R", alike or different, represent each an alkyl radical containing one to eighteen carbon atoms, R' and R" together can represent a divalent saturated hydrocarbon group containing two to seven carbon atoms, and R'" represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical containing one to seven carbon atoms; and, optionally, an adjuvant inert to the insecticide and chosen from among diluents, thickening agents, perfumes, synergists, colorants, repellants, solid supports and comburants.

  • Patent number: 4505429
Abstract: The present invention provides a dispenser for an air treating material from which vapors are released into the ambient air through an annular aperture from a round dished base, said dispenser comprising a round dished cover made of an elastic material the top of which curves concavely inwards by exerting pressure on its center, thereby simultaneously exposing the annular aperture, and which curves convexly outwards by exerting pressure on the periphery, thereby closing the annular aperture; a spindle in the center of the inner wall of the dished cover which spindle traverses a bracket secured to two adjacent positions of the dished base; a pad of absorbent material positioned beneath the bracket containing in the interior thereof a plastic sachet which is impermeable to liquid and which contains a volatile active product in liquid form; the exertion of pressure on the center of the cover pushing the spindle downwards so that its tip penetrates the pad beneath the elastic bracket and pierces the plastic sache
