Egg liquid is sprayed onto the inner surface of a heating drum while rotating the heating drum to solidify the egg liquid and then to make the solidified egg liquid detach from the inner surface of the heating drum, which egg liquid is sprayed within an area of the inner surface of the heating drum, which area expands at an angle of 60° to 150° in the direction of rotation of the heating drum from a rotation origin defined as the intersection of a vertical line and the rotation axis of the heating drum, wherein the angle is indicated taking the angle of the direction of the vertical line as 0°.
Abstract: The present invention provides genes that encode the N-acetyl-(R,S)-?-amino acid acylases. The N-acetyl-(R,S)-?-amino acid acylases were isolated and purified from bacterial cells and the nucleotide sequences were determined. AJ110349 (FERM BP-10366) includes, for example, the protein having the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ. ID. NO. 8. The gene encoding this enzyme includes, for example, the DNA having the nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ. ID. NO. 7. The N-acetyl-(S)-?-amino acid acylase produced by Burkholderia sp. AJ110349 (FERM BP-10366) includes, for example, the protein having the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ. ID. NO. 10. The gene encoding this enzyme includes, for example, the DNA having the nucleotide sequence shown inshown in SEQ. ID. NO. 9. The N-acetyl-(R)-?-amino acid acylase produced by Variovorax sp.

Abstract: A novel protein which has an activity to transport hydantoin compounds is described, as well as a recombinant expressing this transporter protein. From Microbacterium liquefaciens strain AJ3912, a novel gene was discovered to encode a protein which is able to transport hydantoin compounds. A recombinant with an excellent ability to uptake hydantoin compounds is obtained by introducing and expressing the novel gene, called mhp, using gene recombination techniques.

Abstract: Gelling agents which contain a specific N-acylamino acid monoamide monoalkyl ester have a melting temperature of about 100° C., are capable of solidifying a wide variety of oily base materials including silicones, and do not cause “sweating” while retaining a practical level of gel strength. When applied to skin, the resulting gels have a good feeling, good spreadability, and good fittability to skin.
Abstract: The present invention provides a new method for producing serine derivatives and their optically-activated derivatives in a convenient manner. In the presence of an enzyme, an L-?-amino acid of formula (I): (in the formula (I), R1 is a hydrocarbon group) is reacted with an aldehyde of formula (II): (in the formula (II), R2 is a hydrocarbon) to produce an L-serine derivative of formula (III). .
Abstract: According to the process for producing amino acid or salt thereof in the present invention, in the adsorption step, an amino acid-containing aqueous solution is fed into a pressure tight column so that a free amino acid is adsorbed on a carbonate-type anion exchange resin packed in the pressure tight column. Subsequently, in the elution step, eluent liquid containing a hydrogen carbonate ion and/or a carbonate ion is injected into the pressure tight column in a pressurized state to elute the amino acid adsorbed on the anion exchange resin and simultaneously to regenarate the anion exchange resin into the carbonate-type. In the case of purifying an acidic amino acid, an aqueous ammonium carbonate solution is employed as the eluent liquid. In the case of purifying a neutral amino acid, an aqueous carbonic acid solution, an aqueous hydrogen carbonate solution, an aqueous ammonium hydrogen carbonate solution or an aqueous ammonium carbonate solution is employed as the eluent liquid.
Abstract: The L-lysine-producing ability and the L-lysine-producing speed are improved in a coryneform bacterium harboring an aspartokinase in which feedback inhibition by L-lysine and L-threonine is substantially desensitized, by successively enhancing DNA coding for a dihydrodipicolinate reductase, DNA coding for a dihydrodipicolinate synthase, DNA coding for a diaminopimelate decarboxylase, and DNA coding for a diaminopimelate dehydrogenase.
Abstract: Crystals of isopropyl ester of N-(2,6-dichlorobenzoyl)-4-[6-(methylamino)methyl-1-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,4-dihydroquinazoline-3(2H)-yl]-L-phenylalanine hydrochloride are useful as ?4 integrin inhibitors.
Abstract: Fat-soluble trace constituents contained in plant tissues may be conveniently concentrated and/or purified by a method which involves extracting the fat-soluble trace constituent from a plant, to obtain an extract containing the fat-soluble trace constituent; adding a fatty acid ester to the extract, to obtain a mixture; and subjecting the mixture to molecular distillation. The method is particularly effective for the concentration and/or purification of fat-soluble constituents which are solids or viscous liquids at ambient temperature and ordinary pressure. The concentrated and/or purified fat-soluble trace constituent of a plant tissue prepared by the method may be combined with a food or drink to afford a food or drink product that contains the concentrated and/or purified fat-soluble trace constituent.
