Abstract: Genetic anticancer vaccine for stimulation of patient's immune system to eradicate cancer, particularly malignant melanoma. The objective of the invention is genetic modification of allogeneic cancel cells by insertion of the two genes, one encoding human interleukin 6 and the other encoding soluble interleukin 6 receptor, which will be administered to patients.

Abstract: Method for preparation of pure hepatitis B surface antigen HBsAg from human plasma, wherein the initial plasma after being treated to remove lipides and partially remove human plasma proteins, is submitted to digestion with pepsin in amount of 0.01-0.50 mg/mg of protein to selectively decompose the plasma proteins while the antigen remains intact, filtered in a phosphate buffered medium, up to a pH value of 7.1-7.3, through molecular filters passing molecules of up to 100,000 Daltons, the infectiosity being subsequently de-activated by means of formaldehyde, in proportion of 1:2000 by volume, for 96 hours.

Abstract: An artificial heart comprising two ventricles (8) and two atria (9) adapted for inclusion in a blood circulation system via valves (17), to operate in the same manner as a live heart. The heart comprises a rigid housing (1) containing in its top part two inlet ports (2) and two outlet ports (3). Elastic ventricle (8) and elastic atrium (9) constitute a symmetrical half of the heart. The bottom part of housing (1) is shaped in the form of two parallel cylinders (4) capped tightly and slidably with buckets (5) having convex bottoms, these bottoms forming pistons (6). An elastic movable diaphragm (7) is located above each piston (6), and is circumferentially attached to the inside of cylinder (4) and to the elastic ventricle (8). Physiological liquid is contained between ventricle (8) and diaphragm (7).
Abstract: A spatial intrauterine contraceptive insert which after being introduced by means of a normal inserter into the uterus cavity takes on by itself the appearance of a spatial body. The insert has two arms 1, 2, the ends of which are connected permanently and formed into two spatial spirals along axes 4, 5 that intersect in an acute angle. In cross-section, the arms 1, 2 take on the shape of a circle. The parts of the arms 1, 2 which are formed as spirals of about 11/2 turns have the appearance of a mirror image. Near the end of the first turn of the spiral the arms 1 and 2 are immobilized by means of a link 6 made of copper. At the juncture point of said arms there is provided a thread 7 for facilitating the removal of the insert from the uterus.
