Patents Assigned to Akai Electric Company Limited
  • Patent number: 4859977
Abstract: An insulator device to be inserted between a power transformer and a conductive chassis. Insulative washers are monolithically formed with the spacer. One washer is formed for each screw holding the transformer to the chassis. Each washer has a cylindrical protrusion which fits into a hole in the spacer. The screw extends through the washer, protrusion and spacer so as to be insulated from the transformer.

  • Patent number: 4604747
Abstract: An error correcting and controlling system forms syndromes S.sub.1 and S.sub.2 for each of a set of reproduced, sampled signal words and error correcting words P or Q and also forms a syndrome S.sub.i =S.sub.1 .sym.T.sup.i-7 S.sub.2 by using the result of a CRC check of the set of sampled signal words. An error position i is determined by three zero counters which respectively indicate S.sub.1 .noteq.0, S.sub.2 .noteq.0 and S.sub.i .noteq.0. Alternatively, the system may further include three counters for respectively counting errors developed in the set of sampled signal words, and the error correcting words P and Q, the errors being detected by a CRC check circuit. When any one of the counters counts an error and the remaining counters count no error with S.sub.1 .noteq.0, S.sub.2 .noteq.0 and S.sub.i .noteq.0, a control signal is generated to perform a concealing operation, such as a means value interpolation, etc.

  • Patent number: 4409633
Abstract: A magnetic head for magnetic tape recording and reproducing apparatus utilizing Mn-Zn single crystalline ferrite at least for the tip core or front portion of a head core where an air gap is formed, wherein different phases are locally precipitated only at the region including the air gap at the central portion thereof where a running magnetic tape contacts during the recording and reproducing operation of the apparatus. The output of the head is considerably increased with the ferrite noise inherent in single crystalline ferrite heads kept at a low level, in comparison with the conventional single crystalline ferrite heads in which the precipitation of the different phases is not limited to the above-noted region of the head core. The head is made by a method comprising disposing a masking film or coating of metal or oxide over the whole surfaces of the head core except for the above-mentioned region and treating the core at a temperature of 1,000.degree. C.-1,200.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4000514
Abstract: In a cassette type tape recording and reproducing apparatus in which a pair of pinch rollers are alternately brought into cooperative relation with a corresponding pair of capstans driven to rotate in opposite directions to each other by a single motor having unidirectional rotation for causing a reversal of the running direction of a tape, so that recording or reproduction is automatically effected for both sides of the cassette, recording or reproduction is automatically and continuously effected for one side or both sides of the cassette according to the mechanical selection of a mode of operation made from among the modes of recording or reproduction for only one side of the cassette, of only one time for each side of the cassette and of continuously for both sides of the cassette. Reversal of the running direction of the cassette tape is achieved by a unidirectional driving force produced by a unidirectionally rotating flywheel.

  • Patent number: 3974522
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a video tape recorder to record a new video signal successively to an old video signal prerecorded on a magnetic tape for editing a magnetic recording in such a manner that, when played back, no picture disturbance is produced at the edited transition of the tape. An end part of the tape bearing recorded information is rewound upon completion of recording thereof. Prior to the recording of a new video signal, the rewound part of the tape is played back to pick up control signals therefrom and the phase of the latter is compared with that of vertical synchronizing signals contained in the new video signal. Upon coincidence of these phases with each other, the operational mode of the video tape recorder is switched from playback to recording and actual recording of the new video signal is commenced. When the magnetic tape thus edited is played back, no picture disturbance results at the edited transition of the tape and desirable pictures can be obtained.
