    Abstract: A disease control agent and a phytoalexin inducing agent, comprising Streptomyces sp. R-5 as an active ingredient are disclosed. Disease-resistant plants may be produced by inoculating plants with the disclosed Streptomyces sp. R-5. The disease control agent and a phytoalexin inducing agent are further useful in that they have low toxicity to humans and cause no environmental contamination.
