Patent number: 11833239Abstract: An anhydrous and alcohol-free cosmetic product having a silky feel containing: 10 to 99, preferably 40 to 90, percent by weight dimethicone crosspolymer gel dispersed in a non-silicone fluid; and 1 to 30 percent by weight lipophilic actives, fragrance oils, or a combination thereof. The product can also contain 1 to 90 percent by weight non-silicone fluid to adjust the viscosity. This solvent can be volatile to produce a dry feel on the skin. One or more emollients can be used to moisturize the skin or to increase the miscibility of the actives and fragrance. Moreover, a preservative and some pigments can be added to the formula to preserve the product from bacteria contamination and to improve the aesthetics. The product can be used with a variety of cosmetic or fragrance products such as creams, gels, and lotions.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2021Date of Patent: December 5, 2023Assignee: AKI, Inc.Inventors: Mickael Devassine, Hrazhyhna Devassine

Publication number: 20220259520Abstract: A sampler is presented for a sample of a scented, waxy candle material. The scented, waxy material is melted and may be diluted with compatible additives and/or liquid (organic oil or hydrocarbon), before being layered to a face of a bottom layer. A top layer (3) is applied directly over the sample and can be adhered to the bottom layer to form a seal. In another embodiment a peripheral seal, is formed between the top and the bottom layers. The seal is separable by a user pulling on a tab a portion of the top layer to expose the face of the sample to the atmosphere allowing the volatile molecules present in the candle to be released. With a repositionable glue as a seal, the top layer can be replaced to prevent further release of volatile molecules. A method is also shown for making the sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2020Publication date: August 18, 2022Applicant: AKI, INC.Inventors: Mickael Devassine, Amal Brohmi, Catholyn T. Griffiths, Joshua M. Dozier, Hrazhyna Devassine

Publication number: 20210362932Abstract: A sampler for fragrance or cosmetic powdery material such as make up, blush, eyeshadow, and the like. The powder can be dispersed in a liquid such as a fragrance or a volatile solvent before application to a bottom layer. The solvent is removed before a top layer is applied over the sample optionally without an intermediate layer. A peripheral seal such as a repositionable glue or heat-seal, or both, is formed between the top and the bottom layers. The seal is separable by a user pulling on a tab located on one side to expose the face of the bottom and to allow the material to be sampled. The sampler has a slim profile, which can be efficiently manufactured with a roller application process, and is particularly suited for placement in magazines, flyers, newspapers, postcards, and the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 19, 2021Publication date: November 25, 2021Applicant: AKI, Inc.Inventors: Mickael Devassine, Hrazhyna Devassine

Publication number: 20210353815Abstract: A scented color-changing system for revealing a hidden message, brand, picture, and the like on a substrate such as a paper when a fragrance is applied or released on the substrate. The hidden message contains a color former such as a leuco dye and the fragrance contains a color developer such as zinc chloride that reacts with the color former to reveal the message. The fragrance can be sprayed on the substrate or released from microcapsules embedded in or disposed on the substrate by rupturing the microcapsules. The scented color-changing system is particularly suited for use with fragrance test strips, advertising mailers, magazine inserts, and the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2021Publication date: November 18, 2021Applicant: AKI, Inc.Inventors: Mickael Devassine, David O'Halloran, Josh M. Publication number: 20210315283Abstract: A disposable diffusing collar stay that allows a slow release of volatile molecules such as perfume, insect repellent, etc. without requiring application of such molecules directly on the skin or spraying of these volatile molecules onto the wearer's skin or clothing. The disposable diffusing collar stay can be composed of a water-soluble substrate wherein volatile molecules are absorbed into the substrate or trapped between substrate layers, or of a rigid body with volatile molecules applied in a cavity thereof. The disposable diffusing collar stay can have a release barrier layer or packaging that prevents the release of volatile molecules before use.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2021Publication date: October 14, 2021Applicant: AKI, Inc.Inventors: Mickael Devassine, Matthew Crider, David O'Halloran, Amal Brohmi, Hrazhyna Devassine
