  • Patent number: 10703538
Abstract: A compartmentalization system for an industrial tote includes a base; side walls, which include recesses for retaining bins within the tote; and end walls. The tote may include eight recesses in each side wall for receiving a pair of inserts on a bin. The bins typically include two or four tabs. The bins that are used with the tote system include a base, opposed side walls, and end walls that define the interior of the bin. Typically, a lip formed at the top of the side and end walls to improve strength and stability. The tabs are formed on the exterior of at least one side wall. The tab is inserted into the recess in the tote. Each tab includes a riser that is substantially normal to the sidewall and a tab formed at the end of the riser so that the tab is spaced apart from the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 9676518
Abstract: A hanging, stackable and nestable bin for storing parts and components used in assembly includes a pair of footers and a pair of footer depressions having a complimentary shape to one another. The hanging, stackable and nestable bin also includes a notch with a projection formed in the floor of the bin that extends transversely along the rear wall of the bin and a complimentary shaped upper rear wall rim. The footer, footer depressions, notch and upper rear wall rim provide three point stacking support when one bin is stacked onto another bin. In addition, the hanging, stackable and nestable bin includes sidewalls that are generally planar at the rear portion of the bin which aid in facilitating nesting of one bin into another bin. A cleat formed in the top rear wall of the bin provides rear hanging support for the bin.

  • Publication number: 20170050761
Abstract: The multiple cleat bin of the present invention includes a base, a front wall, two opposing sidewalls, and a substantially vertical rear wall having an upper rim. The rear wall includes a cleat near the upper rim of the rear wall and a second cleat formed at the base of the rear wall. A third cleat formed in the rear wall may also be included. A fourth cleat formed in the rear wall may also be included. Preferably, a forewall and kick out wall are included to form a stacking space such that a second may be placed within bin for increased packing density for shipping or storage. The additional cleats provide additional strength for bins manufactured of more economical or recycled polymers that tend to be softer or less rigid. The use of multiple cleats allows for improved strength and flexibility in use.

  • Publication number: 20160286985
Abstract: An inclined panel for mounting industrial bins that allows the bins to hang at an angle such that the interior of the bin is more easily accessible by production personnel is presented. The inclined panel has an upper edge and a lower edge; a plurality of louvers formed on the panel; a separation plate adjoining the upper edge of the panel; and a mounting surface. The panel may optionally incorporate a second mounting surface. Typically, the inclined panel relies upon the separation plate to space the panel away from vertical by an angle of 10°-25° and preferably by an angle of about 10°-15°. A rack system using such a panel is also presented. The rack system may also include one or more end caps at the ends of the panels. The rack system may incorporate a wheeled base or the panels may be mounted on a fixed wall.

  • Publication number: 20160150878
Abstract: The present invention provides a divider for industrial shelves having a planar base that lies flat on a shelf with an upwardly extending notch that accommodates the ridge formed on the front of many shelves. The downwardly extending spiral torsion spring is provided to fit over the front reinforcing wall of a shelf allows a snug but repositionable fit of the divider on a shelf. A reinforcing ridge is formed at the edges of the divider wall. Reinforcing ridges are also formed around a number of cutouts formed in the divider wall. The increased thickness of the reinforcing ridges decreases the flex in the divider wall when used to support items on a shelf. A chamfer formed at the base of the divider wall increases stiffness of the wall and inhibit cracking between the base and divider wall.

  • Patent number: 8342329
Abstract: A stackable storage bin includes a body having a rim extending around an open top. A first angled slot is formed in an upper edge of each side wall adjacent a rear end thereof and a vertical second slot is formed in the upper edge of each side wall at a position forwardly from the first slot. An angled first tab is formed adjacent the bottom edge of each side wall in a position vertically aligned with the first slot and a vertical second tab is formed adjacent a bottom edge of each side wall at a position vertically aligned with the vertical second slot whereby when two of the bins are in the vertically stacked array, the tabs on the bottom of an upper bin engage the slots on the lower bin to interlock the two bins together.

  • Patent number: 8322669
Abstract: A storage bin retaining member for releasable attachment to a support panel having a pair of horizontally spaced openings includes a body having an upper arm portion extending outwardly from each side thereof, a lower support portion extending outwardly from each side thereof and a central portion connecting the upper arm and the lower support portion. A pair of resilient tabs extending downwardly from the upper ends of the upper arm portion engage a pair of openings in the support panel to secure the retaining member to the support panel and a spring member connected to the bottom of the lower support portion engages a storage bin attached to a lower pair of openings.

  • Publication number: 20120043289
Abstract: A two tone storage bin for a product includes a body having a bottom wall and two opposed side walls, a front end wall of a first color and a rear end wall of a second color connected thereto. The two end walls have a height lower than a height of the side walls to form a front bin opening and a rear bin opening. A divider wall is positioned midway of the body to form a front hopper and a rear hopper, each of which is filled with a product. When the front hopper is empty and product in the bin needs replenishing, the bin is turned around so that the rear end wall of the second color faces outwardly to provide a visual indicator that replenishment of the product in the bin is needed while there is still product left in the rear hopper.

  • Patent number: 7516854
Abstract: A compartmented, stackable and nestable system bin includes a bottom having a rear wall, opposed end walls and a front wall integrally connected thereto. A plurality of spaced divider walls separate the bin into a plurality of compartments. A plurality of notches are formed in a top of each of the divider walls and the end walls and a plurality of grooves are formed in the underside or bottom of each of the compartments with sets of notches on the top of the bin being in vertical alignment with sets of grooves on the bottom of the compartments. The notches of a system bin receive a pair of dowels which support an upper system bin of identical construction when the upper system bin is in stacked relation thereon and the grooves of a system bin receive a pair of dowels positioned in notches on a lower system bin of identical construction when the system bin is in stacked relation on the lower system bin.
