  • Patent number: 4106713
Abstract: A thread delivery device for a textile machine having a rotatable drum on which a thread issuing from a thread bobbin can be wound tangentially for forming an intermediate thread storage. The drum has a lower thread removal edge over which the thread can be withdrawn tangentially for permitting positive thread delivery. A thread guide member is stationarily positioned radially outside of the drum approximately at the level of the removal edge to guide the withdrawn thread. A thread control element is disposed in engagement with the withdrawn thread at a location between its engagement with the drum and the thread guiding member. The thread control element, which is movable transversely relative to the withdrawal path of the thread, is positioned approximately at the level of the removal edge of the drum and is maintained in this position by its engagement with the withdrawn thread so long as the normal working tension is maintained in the thread.

  • Patent number: 4092006
Abstract: A thread storage and delivery device for textile machines, including a housing having a thread supply device rotatably supported thereon and defining a thread channel, a rotatably supported drum axle, a storage drum, and a gearing arrangement with at least one driven wheel which can be driven by means of a carrier pin carried by the thread supply device so that the drum rolls along on a housing-fixed rolling path. The gearing arrangement couples the storage drum to the thread supply device in such a manner that the storage drum stands still with respect to the housing as the thread supply device is rotatably driven. This gearing arrangement engages the drum axle which is fixedly connected to the storage drum and is supported rotatably on the thread supply device, and the thread channel is arranged at a radial distance from the drum axis and extends substantially rectilinearly.

  • Patent number: 4073450
Abstract: A transport device is provided which is driven by an electromotor and on which more than two bobbin supports are mounted and are movable in common such that the respective bobbin to be unwound can be brought into the required association with respect to a stationary thread eye. A thread scanning device is provided adjacent the unwound thread for detecting the thread as it jumps from the bobbin just emptied to the next bobbin. This thread scanning device is connected with the electromotor such that, when the thread scanning device responds, the motor moves the transport device to such an extent that the next bobbin is brought into the required association with respect to the stationary thread eye.

  • Patent number: 3999717
Abstract: A thread delivery device for a textile machine, which device includes a drum upon which a thread can be tangentially wound to form an intermediate thread storage and from which the thread can be unwound axially over an end of the drum. A thread control member is positioned adjacent the withdrawal end of the drum for engaging the withdrawn thread to limit the withdrawal rate of thread from the drum substantially to the rate at which the thread is wound onto the drum to thereby provide a positive thread supply. A thread guide element is disposed adjacent but radially spaced from the drum, and the last thread winding on the drum (that is, the winding which is about to be withdrawn from the drum) is guided around the thread guide element and then back to the drum so that the last winding thus forms a partial winding on the drum. This thread control element thus ensures that two or more windings are not wound off the drum simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 3994446
Abstract: A thread supply device, as for a textile machine, having a stationary thread drum onto which a thread which comes from a storage bobbin can be wound tangentially by means of a winding-on member which rotates around the drum edge for forming an intermediate thread supply on the drum. The thread can be pulled off the drum through a central withdrawal eye. A thread control element is arranged in the area of the withdrawal path of the thread. The thread control element has the form of a hook and is secured on the winding-on member. The hook receives the withdrawal thread in its mouth to limit the thread withdrawal speed to the thread winding-on speed. In the thread withdrawal path, downstream of the hook, there is provided a cut-off eye arranged on a swivel arm which can be swung transversely to the thread path from an operating position into a nonuse or shut-off position. This arm is hinged to the rotating winding-on member and swivels about an axis which is substantially aligned with the axis of the drum.

  • Patent number: 3993258
Abstract: A thread delivery device, preferably for a textile machine, having a fixed drum with a rotatable hollow shaft. A thread from a storage bobbin is delivered from a first face of the drum through the shaft to a second face of the drum. A thread take-up member in the form of a circular take-up disc is rigidly mounted on the shaft adjacent the second face. A thread eyelet is arranged in the vicinity of the edge of the take-up disc for tangentially winding an intermediate supply of thread onto the drum. The intermediate thread supply is movable in the direction of the first face of the drum where the thread is drawn off the drum in the direction of and over the second face and fed to the working elements of the textile machine. An entire annular flange is arranged on the take-up disc, inside of the thread guide, which flange is perpendicular to the disc and projects towards the drum. The flange is concentric with the drum and the section thereof adjacent to the second face.
