Abstract: In a method of heat-pressing sheets of lignocellulosic material the sheets are placed on combined conveying and draining plates externally of a hot press and are charged to and pressed in the press while supported by the plates. Draining of gas or liquid and vapor is effected vertically through the conveying and draining plates at a low temperature. Then the gas or liquid and vapor is drained horizontally through passages arranged in the surfaces of press plates adjacent the sheets.
Abstract: A press plate for presses used in the manufacture of fibreboard, chipboard, laminarboard and the like, in which heating of the press plate is effected by passing a heating medium, such as hot water, hot oil or steam, through passages in the press plate. The press plate comprises a center section having longitudinal passages therein and two end pieces which are welded to the center section. There are cast passages in the end sections which may intersect each other in two-level crossings. Desirably, the passages in the end sections are provided with curves at the corners of the end pieces.
Abstract: A pre-tensioned, screwed joint is assembled or disassembled by using a piston and rod arrangement to elastically extend the screw while a nut is applied or removed.
