  • Patent number: 4765266
Abstract: The embroidering frame of the shuttle embroidering machine comprises cloth beams drivable via drive means. The cloth beams coact in pairs to receive between each such pair a respective material web. These material webs are superimposed in the frame plane and at each material web there engages at each longitudinal edge of the web material a rod-shaped temple or spreader. The upper and lower cloth beams both for the upper and lower material webs are each in selective driving connection by a respective endless belt of the drive means with the driving shaft of an associated geared motor of the drive means and which is carried by the embroidering frame. A belt tensioning device which is reversibly switchable with the rotation direction of the associated geared motor is used. The control circuit of the geared motors contains switching means for the selective separate or synchronous operation of the two geared motors.

  • Patent number: 4470435
Abstract: A selvedge cutting device for a weaving machine or loom serves to cut the selvedge from the fundamental weave or foundation fabric prior to winding-up the same and contains a scissor structure composed of two mutually contacting scissor blades. The one scissor blade is arranged at a mounting structure, such as a stationary ball pin or bowl gudgeon for carrying out swinging or pendulum movements and in relation to which mounting structure the other scissor blade is displaceable in its lengthwise extent. Both of the scissor blades form, at the region of their cutting edges, guide surfaces for the self-guiding of the scissor structure in a cutting lane or alley at the fabric. At the displaceable scissor blade there engages a drive which imparts to such scissor blade an up-and-down movement and does not hinder the pendulum or swinging movements of the scissor structure. In this manner there is provided a simple, functionally reliable selvedge cutting device possessing a high cutting capacity or output.

  • Patent number: 4467841
Abstract: A thread clamp for textile yarns or the like comprises two clamping jaw supports which can be moved relatively towards and away from one another. Each of the clamping jaw supports carries a respective clamping jaw. The clamping jaw of one of the clamping jaw supports is constructed as a clamping hood which is seated upon a substantially block-shaped intermediate layer formed of a rubber-elastic or elastomeric material. The intermediate layer has a portion thereof seated in a form-locking fashion in a recess provided at a base plate at said one clamping jaw support. These measures enable particularly realizing an optimum clamping action due to the oscillation-dampening properties of the intermediate layer supporting the clamping surface.

  • Patent number: 4448295
Abstract: A control apparatus for the electromagnetic brake of a brake device or unit of a weaving machine or loom comprises a cam-controlled brake-pulse transmitter rotating with the machine shaft and two continuous signal switching stages which act upon two parallel connected AND-gates or circuits, each having connected thereafter an adjustable or regulatable time-delay element. The latter jointly cooperate with an OR-gate or circuit which delivers a related stop signal to the brake device or unit. In this way it is possible to achieve a simple, precise and reliable regulation of the angular position of the crank, so that the regulatable time-delay between the output pulse of the AND-gate and the output pulse of the time-delay element constitutes a measure for the corresponding angular position of the crank.

  • Patent number: 4434728
Abstract: A positioning device for a mechanical switching lever arrangement in an embroidery machine comprises an electromagnetic device which serves for displacing a pawl lever between a first end position and an intermediate position. The pawl lever serves for actuating a switching lever arrangement. The positioning device further comprises a mechanical amplifier device for displacing the pawl lever between the aforementioned intermediate position and a second end position. At its free end region the pawl lever carries a permanent magnet which continuously adheres to the electromagnet when the same is deenergized. The mechanical amplifier device, which cooperates with the pawl lever, comprises an externally actuatable switching lever arrangement. By pivoting this switching lever arrangement the pawl lever can be displaced from its intermediate position to the second end position and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4427038
Abstract: An actuation device for a drive element, such as the drive gear of a gripper needle encompasses a box which can be attached to the sley of a shuttlesess loom. Accommodated in this box is a traction means-transmission or drive containing a toothed belt of a drive pulley or disc which is operationally connected with the drive gear and a tensioning pulley or disc. The run of the toothed belt extends essentially parallel to a slide guide for a slide which is fixedly connected with the aforementioned belt run. The slide or carriage is moved to-and-fro by means of a lengthwise adjustable intermediate rod through the action of a crank drive. The adjustable spacing between the reversal points of the slide constitutes a measure for the insertion depth of the weft thread carrier into the shed. This enables a simple and robust as well as adaptable conception by means of which there can be obtained an extremely precise and unchanging insertion depth of the weft thread carrier into the weaving shed.

  • Patent number: 4426941
Abstract: At an embroidery machine there are mounted and displaceably guided two rows of embroidering implement rods which can be connected so as to be operatively coupled or decoupled in accordance with a desired program to a related one of two operatively associated oscillating drive rails. The embroidering implement rods which are related to the same embroidery location or position and which are, for instance, arranged in superimposed relation, can be simultaneously coupled to or decoupled from the operatively associated drive rail by means of a common switching lever. This switching lever can be actuated either directly or manually by means of adjustment levers and automatically by means of an electromagnetic device. This individual switching of all implements of an embroidery location enables easily adjusting any desired combination of working and inactive embroidery locations.

  • Patent number: 4406312
Abstract: The invention relates to a weaving loom which is provided with a selection device allowing the programmed selection of that weft thread among a plurality of threads which has to be inserted into the weaving shed by means of an insertion device. The selection device comprises a program control device and a positioning device controlled by such program control device, which positioning device moves the weft thread carrier so that only the selected weft thread is brought to an active position ready to be inserted into the weaving shed. The selection device comprises a microcomputer provided with a microprocessor, a read-only memory, a pattern computer and a keyboard intended for programming and operating. The positioning device is provided with electromagnets controlled by program control signals of the program control device, which electromagnets control the positioning of the weft thread carriers so as to move the weft threads from the passive positions to the active positions and vice-versa.

  • Patent number: 4403630
Abstract: An apparatus for tensioning warp threads of a loom comprises a warp beam from which the warp threads are withdrawn by means of a support beam and a deflection beam. The deflection beam is secured to the support beam by means of bending springs acting in the direction of the deflected warp threads. The bending or deflection length of the bending springs is adjustable for preselected setting of the warp thread tension in that the bending springs are supported at their bending or deflection side by means of a bending-resistant support plate which is adjustable in lengthwise direction. These measures provide for a purely mechanical, simple, easily adjustable and functionally reliable tensioning apparatus which is particularly suitable for the pile warp of a Terry weaving machine.
