Abstract: Preoperative resection planning is assisted by a computer. Rather than rely on interpolation of the user input, a graph of interconnections is used. The user inputs one or more polylines on one or more two-dimensional views. The polylines are used to assign resection and remnant seeds with a band of unassigned locations. The 2D seeds are used with the graph of interconnections to assign different voxels in the volume, including the unassigned locations, as being part of the resection volume or part of the remnant volume.
Abstract: A motor control of a motor has a DC circuit with a back-up capacitor and a switching device that can connect a motor to the back-up capacitor. A spring device applies a restoring force to the rotor of the motor when deflected from an idle position. When the DC Circuit feeds energy into the back-up capacitor from a power supply network, a control device activates switching elements of the switching device to adjust an actual deflection of the rotor to a required deflection. When the rotor is deflected from the idle position and the back-up capacitor receives no energy from the power supply network, the control device, supplied with energy by the back-up capacitor, sets the required deflection to the idle position and activates the switching elements such that the motor, upon being restored by the spring device, feeds energy into the back-up capacitor via the switching elements.
Abstract: A computed tomography system has a gantry with a rotor side that can be rotated around a system axis during operation, at which at least one x-ray tube is mounted. To cool the at least one x-ray tube a liquid cooling system is equipped with a fluid volume filled with cooling liquid, the fluid volume extends over distances of different sizes from the system axis. The fluid volume is located on the rotor of the gantry and thus is exposed to centrifugal force during operation. To increase pressure in the cooling system, a flexible compensation volume and a movable mass element that rotate with the gantry are provided. The mass element is arranged such that the centrifugal force acting on the mass element during operation causes pressure to be exerted on the cooling liquid.

Abstract: A method and system for left ventricle (LV) detection in 2D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images is disclosed. In order to detect the LV in a 2D MRI image, a plurality of LV candidates are detected, for example using marginal space learning (MSL) based detection. Candidates for distinctive anatomic landmarks associated with the LV are then detected in the 2D MRI image. In particular, apex candidates and base candidates are detected in the 2D MRI image. One of the LV candidates is selected as a final LV detection result using component-based voting based on the detected LV candidates, apex candidates, and base candidates.

Abstract: An electrical signal connector which is interposed between an electronic device and an electrical signal cable, which is used for an electrical signal which is output from the electronic device or an electrical signal which is input into the electronic device, and which has an electrical signal cut-in terminal, an electrically conductive plate and at least one metal cable clamp. At the time of installation of the electrical signal connector, electric wire connectors in the electrical signal cable which communicate with the exterior are taken forwards along one surface of the conductive plate and extended together with conductive plate projecting terminals into accommodating electrical signal cut-in terminal ports of the electronic device, and, at the same time, the electrical signal cable and conductive plate are closely connected via the metal cable clamp, so fixing the electrical signal cable and conductive plate together, and ensuring that the cable connectors do not suffer damage.
Abstract: An apparatus, method, system and computer-readable medium store and manage image data with automatic labeling of image data corresponding to body slices, such as obtained by a computed tomography scanner. The labels include a body coordinate value along the body axis. The respective body coordinate value can be determined by comparing received image data sets with reference data sets with known attached coordinate values utilizing pattern recognition techniques. Applications include medical image data management in hospitals or operating and providing medical networks. Queries for images that include particular body regions are processed more efficiently. This results in less local memory required and narrower bandwidth resources of transmission networks.
Abstract: A controller for a contrast agent-based, dual energy or two-spectrum tomosynthesis, has a control module that is designed for synchronized control of an injector and the mammography system. The control is based on measured, patient-specific values.
Abstract: A software platform is provided for a hospital for example, wherein software modules (program code packages) are assigned in groups to different levels. In at least one embodiment, the presence of software interfaces allows software modules of different levels to be stored and run on different computer units with a data processing facility and storage unit, thus allowing communication between different levels by way of a data line. In at least one embodiment, this allows tasks to be moved out of the hospital, thereby saving costs.

Abstract: An adjustable tailgate support contains a fixed inner tube, which is connected to a lower housing part and on which is arranged a spiral spring. The spiral spring on the one hand is supported at the lower end on a setting element held on the inner tube and, on the other hand, is held fixed at a remote, upper, free end in the upper housing part. An increase or reduction in the spring force of the spiral spring can be set by turning the setting element, which has a supporting ring, on an external thread of the fixed inner tube.

Abstract: A method automatically starts an internal combustion engine having variable valve lift. The internal combustion engine is shut down temporarily in certain driving operating states in order to save fuel and being re-started in the event of a change in the driving operating state. During the engine run-down, the inlet valve is actuated such that the closing time is shifted, with the cylinder being opened via the inlet valve until a pressure compensation has taken place in the cylinder in which an under-pressure would prevail during the engine run-down.

Abstract: A housing attachment for an electric machine is constructed in compliance with protection class IP 23 and includes a first projected edge disposed at a first border wall such that water located in the middle section at the first border wall drips off no later than at the first projected edge and is led directly or indirectly to the first air inlet opening. Proximate to the first air inlet opening are first laminates which deflect incoming air flowing into the feed air channel to a second edge area. Proximate to the second air outlet opening are second laminates that impart to the flow direction of the outgoing air leaving the outlet air channel a component directed to the top of the electric machine. Third laminates are disposed in an end area of the outlet air channel to deflect the outlet air flowing in the outlet air channel away from the top of the electric machine.
