Abstract: A coated bleach composition for laundering which contains from 1-97 weight percent of an amidoperoxyacid, and 0-98 weight percent of a hydratable amidoperoxyacid compatible material, less than 2.0 weight percent of water, and a coating of 2-30 weight percent of a water-soluble salt applied by spray coating on a fluidized bed, is disclosed. Also disclosed is a process for the coating of an amidoperoxyacid-containing bleach composition characterized by the steps of spraying, at a temperature below the decomposition temperature of the amidoperoxyacid, a sufficient amount of an atomized spray of an aqueous solution of a water-soluble salt onto a fluidized bed of bleach composition containing an amidoperoxyacid to provide 2-30 weight percent of the water-soluble salt to the composition, and drying the coated composition to a water content of less than 2.0 weight percent. The coating of the composition eliminates caking problems encountered with the uncoated composition.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for predicting the presence of at least one congenital or acquired imbalance or therapeutic condition associated with thrombosis/hemostasis from at least one time-dependent measurement profile. At least one time-dependent measurement on an unknown sample is performed and a respective property of said sample is measured over time so as to derive a time-dependent measurement profile. A set of a plurality of predictor variables are defined which sufficiently define the data of the time-dependent measurement profile. A model is then derived that represents the relationship between the congenital or acquired imbalance or therapeutic condition, and the set of predictor variables. Subsequently, the model is utilized to predict the existence of the congenital or acquired imbalance or therapeutic condition in the unknown sample.

Abstract: A process for the synthesis of a catalyst for the polymerization of carbon monoxide and at least one olefin which comprises treating a mixture of a compound of palladium, such as tetrakis(acetonitrile) palladium, and a Lewis acid anion, such as a fluoride of a metal selected from Group III to Group V of the Periodic Table (e.g., boron trifluoride), with carbon monoxide and an olefin followed by reaction of the resulting composition with a bidentate ligand reagent, such as a 1,3-bis(diphenyl-phosphino) alkane (e.g., 1,3-bis(diphenyl-phosphino) propane).
Abstract: Benzene phosphorus dichloride can be prepared by the reaction of benzene and phosphorus trichloride in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst, such as aluminum trichloride or ferric trichloride, at elevated temperature, such as from about 200.degree. C. to about 250.degree. C., and superatmospheric pressure, such as no less than the vapor pressure of the components at the chosen reaction temperature, to insure a liquid reaction medium.
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a process of agglomerating particulate material in the presence of water which comprises mixing said particulate matreial with a binding effective amount of at least one water soluble polymer, and a binder enhancing effective amount of caustic, to produce a mixture, and forming said mixture into agglomerates.
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with European strains of the Porcine Reproductive Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) virus, which are attenuated, and show a characteristic reaction pattern with two monoclonal antibodies against wild-type PRRSV.The invention also relates to vaccines for the protection of pigs against PRRS, to monoclonal antibodies reactive with PRRS virus and monoclonal antibodies specifically non-reactive with the attenuated strains.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an asbestos-free roof coating composition which comprises roof-coating asphalt cutback, an amine-based dispersion aid and various optional ingredients including fillers to obtain the desired bulk. The dispersion aid is an organic or inorganic acid neutralized salt of a polyamine of the formula:R--NH.sub.2wherein R is a C.sub.3 C.sub.26 coco-alkyl radical.
Abstract: Activity promoting additives (alkoxylated amines and alkoxylated quaternary ammonium compounds) for rest-breaking agents are disclosed. Further, rest-breaking compositions comprising these additives and a rest-breaking agent are also disclosed. Finally, a process for breaking the rest of deciduous fruit trees is disclosed. The activity promoting additives enhance the activity of rest-breaking agents thereby leading to improvements in the yields and quality of fruit from deciduous fruit trees in regions which have mild winter weather conditions.

Abstract: The invention pertains to a non-linear optically active (NLO) side chain polycarbonate and to NLO active waveguides containing said polycarbonate. Waveguides containing this NLO polycarbonate have a low loss of signal. Polycarbonates based on bischloroformates of hexafluorobisphenol A, hexafluorotetrabromobisphenol A and bisphenol S or deuterated bisphenol A or sulphonylbiphenol are especially preferred within the framework of the invention: they were found to give an exceptionally low loss of signal. The invention further pertains to cross-linkable and already cross-linked polycarbonates. Especially preferred polycarbonates according to the invention are those where the diol comprises a rigid donor group. These polycarbonates have a high Tg, which renders them thermally stable.
