  • Patent number: 6367216
Abstract: A fastener clip for use in constructing a security wall system, and a security wall system so constructed are disclosed. The fastener clip has an elongate smooth surfaced planar body, a counter-sunk fastener recess formed s centrally within the body, a fastener opening defined within the recess and extending therethrough, and at least two spaced prongs formed as a part of the body which extend away from the body in a common direction. The fastener recess is sized and shaped to fit within an opening of a rigid mesh wall panel placed in registry with at least one structural frame member of a building. A threaded fastener is passed through the fastener opening and driven into the frame member to seat a bottom portion of the recess and a driving head of the fastener against the frame member.

  • Patent number: 6178700
Abstract: An apparatus for reinforcing a door frame, comprising a pair of elongated metal plates extending substantially the length and width of the jambs forming either side of the door frame. Each of the metal plates defines a plurality of attachment holes for attaching the plates individually to the back sides of each of the jambs with fasteners passing therethrough. In addition, each plate defines a plurality of installation holes for allowing the door frame to be secured in the framed opening with fasteners passing through the jambs, the installation holes, and into adjacent members of the framed opening. Each plate further defines a plurality of openings along the lengths thereof, which allows attachment of appropriate hinges or strike plate to the front side of the corresponding jamb by fasteners passing through the hinge or strike plate, the jamb, the openings, and into an adjacent member of the framed opening.

  • Patent number: 5761866
Abstract: An intersection assembly for use with an architectural stucco reveal system. The stucco reveal system generally includes elongated strips of material which can be attached to an underlying structure. The strips include a base portion and generally two spaced-apart walls extending from a front side of said base portion defining a channel therebetween. Flanges extend away from outside surfaces of the walls and the channel. The intersection assembly includes at least two intersecting portions which have edges which are placed in abutment to define a desired angular configuration of the intersection assembly. A support plate of a generally rigid material compatible for welding to the intersecting portions is welded to a rear side of the intersecting portions. The support plate provides structural support to retain the intersecting portions in the desired angular configuration with the edges thereof in abutment.

  • Patent number: 5697195
Abstract: A security barrier system which includes a security lath assembly having a layer of mesh material and a backing material attached thereto. The mesh material is of a gauge and configuration to provide a security barrier. The security barrier system includes application of plaster or stucco directly to the security lath assembly. A surface coating is applied to the plaster layer to prevent the formation and propagation of cracks through the surface. Also included in the barrier system is an uplift control mechanism and expansion and contraction elements which prevent a ceiling structure from being displaced and accommodates structural expansion and contraction.

  • Patent number: 5556080
Abstract: A fence system including a frame and a plurality of foraminous panels attached to the frame. The foraminous panels are constructed with continuous integral strands forming a zig-zag pattern defining cell apertures therebetween which are connected by integral bonds extending between each of the strands. The cell apertures define a non-circular interior shape. A fastener of the fence system has a shank, a head attached to one end of the shank, and may include a shoulder positioned between the shank which is shaped to cooperatively engage a cell aperture. The foraminous panels are attached to the frame with a portion of each neighboring panel having an overlapping area through which fasteners are inserted and attached. A reinforcing assembly including at least one reinforcing member attached over each overlapping area and may be attached over other joints or edges to provide added security. An angled top edge cap is attached along a top end of the foraminous panels and is angled to deter climbing.

  • Patent number: 5531051
Abstract: An extruded strip joining system including a strip and a clip which cooperate to join free ends of extruded strips in precise abutment to maintain alignment of the strips. The strip joining system includes the strip which has an elongated junction portion and at least one elongated flange extending parallel to and away from the junction portion. The junction portion includes an internal surface and an external surface. Protruding structures are provided on the internal surface of the junction portion. A pair of axially elongated tabs are formed on the protruding structures depending from internal surface of the junction portion. The tabs are axially elongated along the strip and extend inwardly defining a channel therebetween. The clip is configured to engage the tabs thereby retaining the clip in the channel. Two strips are positioned with free ends abutting each other and a clip is positioned over the channel and pressed into engagement with the tabs.

  • Patent number: 5423154
Abstract: A banding bead which is attachable to a base structure for providing a guide and form for retaining plaster or other plastic materials thereagainst at two different heights. The banding bead includes a base portion and a generally planar elongated support segment extending generally perpendicularly away said base portion. The banding bead is extruded from a selected material or formed from a strip of sheet material. The support segment has a first planar side, a second planar side, and a top screed portion distal the base portion. A screed lip is disposed on the second planar side between the top screed portion and the base portion. The base portion includes primary and secondary feet extending from the support segment for attachment to the underlying base structure and to provide stability.
