The plurality of fiber arrays comprises at least a first zone defining at least a first pitch between adjacent fiber arrays located within the first zone, and at least a second zone defining at least a second pitch between adjacent fiber arrays located within the second zone, with the at least first pitch being different to the at least second pitch.

Abstract: A product dispenser for dispensing an elongate product strip includes, in one embodiment, a product container for storing the product to be dispensed, the container defining an opening through which the product can exit the container, a product flow regulator and a dispensing cover that overlies the product flow regulator. The product flow regulator is positioned proximate the container opening and comprises a flow passage that is in communication with the product container, the flow passage accommodating the product exiting the container. The product flow regulator terminates in at least one distribution aperture for allowing the product within the flow passage to exit the product flow regulator, the product flow regulator further comprising a reservoir for accommodating the product exiting the product flow regulator. The dispensing cover defines an elongate distribution slit proximate the reservoir of the product flow regulator, for allowing an elongate product strip to be dispensed.

Abstract: A molded plastic applicator for cosmetics including a plastic panel lying substantially in a mold plane when formed and bent out of the mold plane to surround an extended longitudinal axis when the applicator is assembled. A plurality of openings or projections are formed in or on the panel so as to be oriented substantially in a common pull direction transverse to the mold plane when the panel lies in the mold plane and oriented substantially radially of the longitudinal axis when the panel is bent to surround the axis. A retainer holds the panel, when bent, in surrounding relation to the axis. The panel may be formed as a plurality of free-ended limbs, radiating from a hub through which the longitudinal axis extends, and bent down around the axis.

Abstract: According to an aspect of the invention there is provided a method of manufacturing an applicator brush for use in applying a product, such as a cosmetic product, the method comprising providing a plurality of fibers, decorating the fibers so as to define at least one colored region, and fitting the decorated fibers to a stem so as to define a cosmetic applicator brush, wherein the step of decorating the fibers includes a step of coloring the fibers using dye sublimation so that individual fibers have an outer colored region and an inner uncolored region. In an embodiment, an individual fiber is decorated with a color that is different to another individual fiber extending from the stem.
