Abstract: Universal rotary actuators (URAs) and door assemblies having the URAs are disclosed. In some embodiments, the URA includes a motor, a worm gear driven by the motor, a worm wheel having teeth that mesh with threads of the worm gear, a pinion gear attached to the worm wheel, drive gear rotatably connected to the pinion gear, an output shaft attached to the drive gear, and a controller assembly disposed between the drive gear and the motor, the controller selectively controlling direction and speed of the motor. In some embodiments, the URA additionally includes a quick release assembly that moves the pinion gear between an engaged position in which the pinion gear is rotatably connected to the drive gear and a disengaged position in which the pinion gear is not rotatably connected to the drive gear.

Abstract: An articulating ball joint for connecting a pair of driven members to a driving member such as a crank pin. In one embodiment, a single ball is held in a first, or inner, socket defined by a coupling member having a convex outer surface, and the first socket is held within a second, outer, socket defined in a second coupling member also having a convex outer surface, which is, in turn, engaged by a retainer.

Abstract: A wiper drive system including a wiper drive mechanism driving a pair of wiper drive arms to sweep a wiper blade across a surface. The wiper drive mechanism has a motor driving a rack engaged with a sector gear that is supported by pivot bearings. Each wiper drive arm is driven by a sector gear.
Abstract: A wiper drive system and method for installation of a wiper pivot shaft through a structure whose opposite faces may not be parallel. A mounting body supports a bearing support tube and has a concave front side. A mounting ring surrounds the bearing support tube and has a convex rear side that rests adjustably against the concave front side of the mounting body.
