Abstract: A squeegee for a windshield wiper assembly includes a body having a first pair of cut-out portions on opposite sides thereof. Each of said first pair of cut-out portions receives a leaf spring element of a windshield wiper assembly therein. A blade for contacting a windshield of a vehicle is connected to the body. A spoiler is connected to a top of the body and has a generally triangular shape. The spoiler includes a hole formed therethrough in a longitudinal direction of the squeegee. The hole increases the flexibility of the spoiler so that the spoiler flexes when subjected to a wind force.

Abstract: A windshield wiper arm bracket includes a pair of side walls. Each of said side walls include at least one centrally located pin arm receiving hole formed therein. The bracket also includes a post attaching the pair of side walls together. The post is for receiving a pin arm adaptor thereon. The bracket also includes an attachment arm formed on a bottom of each of the pair of side walls. The attachment arms are for connecting the bracket to a windshield wiper assembly. An adaptor for a windshield wiper arm bracket includes a top portion and a web portion. The web portion includes a central aperture formed therein. The central aperture includes a first portion for receiving a post of the windshield wiper arm bracket and a second aperture for receiving a pin arm of a windshield wiper arm.

Abstract: A windshield wiper assembly includes a pair of leaf spring elements supported generally parallel to each other with a space therebetween, a flexible blade supported within the space between the leaf spring elements, a bracket fixed to the intermediate portion of the pair of leaf spring elements and supporting said pair of leaf spring elements to provide the space therebetween, the bracket including a pair of pressure distribution tabs, and a bracket cover connected at opposite sides of the bracket, the bracket cover having a skirt extending below the bracket to cover a portion of the pair of leaf spring elements at the intermediate portion.

Abstract: A backing strip for a windshield wiper assembly includes a pair of rails. Each of the pair of rails includes a body portion and a detent portion. The detent portion includes a cut-out on each side thereof. The cut-outs form at least a pair of hooks on each side of said detent portion. The cut-out on one side of the detent portion of each of said rails is for receiving a claw of the windshield wiper assembly and the hooks on the opposite side of the detent portion of each of the rails are for engaging a windshield wiper blade of the windshield wiper assembly.

A pair of end caps is mounted on opposite ends of the pair of spring steel elements. Each of the end caps includes a pair of detents for engaging the longitudinal slots formed in the spring steel elements and a pair of slots for receiving the ends of the spring steel elements therethrough. A longitudinal length of each of the detents is shorter than a longitudinal length of the longitudinal slots formed in the spring steel elements, so that the spring steel elements can slide with respect to the end caps.
