  • Patent number: 11896993
Abstract: A common head for use in combination with a cartridge assembly, the cartridge assembly being retained within the material containment unit of a dispensing device and arranged to discharge reactive components from larger and smaller cartridges in response to actuation of the dispensing device. The common head includes inlet openings and a rigid walled tube having a partition positioned therein to define larger and smaller pathways to enable passage of the reactive components from the cartridges into and though the common head in a predetermined volumetric ratio and prevent backflow of the components which can lead to unintended curing prior to dispensing. A flexible liner arranged for positioning within one or both pathways of the rigid walled tube is also provided to prevent such backflow and unintended curing prior to dispensing.

Abstract: An adhesive tape is arranged to be applied over the outlet opening of a nozzle otherwise arranged for dispensing a viscous material as a continuous ribbon bead onto a work surface. The adhesive tape is perforated with a plurality of perforations. By applying the inventive adhesive tape over the outlet opening of the nozzle, the viscous material may be dispensed through the plurality of perforations to form a plurality of continuous filaments on the work surface, rather than a continuous ribbon bead, resulting in waste reduction and greater control over the amount dispensed. Such viscous materials may include construction adhesives, caulking materials, sealants, dual component reactive resins, and the like. The work surface may be the base of a wall to which a length of flexible molding is to be attached by an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7905375
Abstract: A device for dispensing flowable materials to low locations without the user being required to bend over or kneel down during dispensing provides relief from back strain or other injuries. The device includes a cylinder having a piston mounted therein which reciprocates between forward ejecting and return directions. A driven rod, connected to the piston, extends through a front wall of the cylinder. Upon actuation, a trigger mechanism supplies a pressure medium within the cylinder for displacing the piston in the forward ejecting direction to dispense flowable material from the dispensing device. The trigger mechanism is oriented to enable the user to hold the dispensing device like a suitcase and is spaced a sufficient distance from where the flowable material is dispensed to enable a user to remain standing erect while dispensing to low areas such as where a floor and wall meet.

  • Patent number: 7690530
Abstract: A dispenser for viscous material packaged in a collapsible sleeve includes a chamber for receiving the packaged material and a piston rod and piston assembly for compressing the collapsible sleeve to dispense the viscous material through a dispensing orifice in a closure removably retained on the forward end of the chamber. The piston assembly includes a movement-limiting member having a distal surface that extends forward of a piston for limiting movement of the piston rod and piston by engaging the peripheral surface of the closure. The movement-limiting member also has an outer peripheral surface that is positioned inwardly of an inner surface of the chamber to provide an annular compartment for receiving portions of the collapsible sleeve therein when the viscous material in the sleeve has been dispensed.
