  • Patent number: 10904300
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for managing user information in a SIP network and a device thereof. The method comprises: initiating a restart timer after a SIP access gateway restarts; within an expiration period of the restart timer, sending a heartbeat reply message to the network element in response to a heartbeat message from a network element, the reply message including the time when the SIP access gateway restarts. If a difference between the time when the SIP access gateway restarts and a current time is less than a time interval between heartbeat messages, the network element sends a registration request to the SIP access gateway, where the registration request includes user information of all users represented by the network element. It is further disclosed a device implementing the method discussed above.

  • Patent number: 9668177
Abstract: A method for handover in a wireless communications network includes the step of communicating information between a target network node and a source network node to enable the source network node to identify and to distinguish types of failures prior to, during or after handover. The information may relate to: “Handover command not received” due to RLF prior to handover or Handover command failure experienced in the source cell; or “Handover failure” where “Handover command received” is followed by Access failure in the target cell. The method is applicable, for example, to networks in accordance with LTE.

  • Patent number: 9503889
Abstract: Network system for communicating between a mobile node and a correspondent node via a first IP edge-IP network-second IP edge connectivity, comprising a user IP addressing space and a network IP addressing space, wherein a locator identifier space is inserted between the user IP and network IP addressing space, wherein the first and second IP edges are associated with first and second locator identifiers, and wherein the system is further arranged for associating a mobile node with one or more IP network addresses and an IP user address decoupled from the one or more IP network addresses via the first locator identifier.

  • Publication number: 20140294006
Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method of processing a packet at a firewall. The method includes: receiving a packet having a source address, destination address, source port, and destination port; comparing the packet to match criteria of a rule, wherein the match criteria includes at least one service group having a plurality of port combinations; matching both the source port and destination port with one of the plurality of port combinations; determining an index into the service group of the matching port combination; and translating a port of the packet based on the index into the service group and a NAT service group defined for the rule.

  • Patent number: 8467677
Abstract: A method for monitoring a passive optical network (1), PON, having a tree-like structure with a main line (3) and at least two branches (6.1 to 6.3), comprising: transmitting a wake-up signal (10) from the main line (3) to at least two monitoring units (DPM1 to DPM3) arranged in the at least two branches (6.1 to 6.3), in each of the monitoring units (DPM1 to DPM3), detecting the wake-up signal (10) and transmitting a response signal (A, B, C) back to the main line (3), each of the monitoring units (DPM1 to DPM3) generating a pre-defined time delay (?tA to ?tC) between the detection of the wake-up signal (10) and the start of the transmission of the response signal (A, B, C), and receiving the response signals (A, B, C) at the main line (3), the receiving times (R1 to R3) of the response signals (A, B, C) being different from each other, the difference between the receiving times (R1 to R3) being adjusted by the pre-defined time delays (?tA to ?tC) of the monitoring units (DPM1 to DPM3).

  • Patent number: 8451797
Abstract: A mobile node includes a processor, a network interface, and a storage device having computer program code for execution by the processor. The computer program code includes a network layer for transmitting and receiving packets and an intermediate driver that transmits packets to the network layer and receives packets from the network layer using a virtual interne protocol (IP) address to identify the mobile node. The intermediate driver transmits packets to the network interface and receives packets from the network interface using a routable actual IP address to identify the mobile node. The intermediate driver permits the actual IP address to change when the mobile node moves from a first subnet to a second subnet without a corresponding change in the virtual IP address. A corresponding NAT associates the virtual IP address with a second actual IP address when the NAT is notified that the mobile node is in the second subnet.

  • Patent number: 7499447
Abstract: Synchronizing multiple instances of an FIB in a network node that has a distributed processing architecture involves associating sequence numbers with all of the FIB entries that are stored with each instance of the FIB and using the sequence numbers that are associated with the FIB entries to determine the most current FIB entry. In one embodiment, the sequence numbers are used to determine the most current FIB entry among two matching FIB entries that have matching information (i.e., matching destination IP addresses and masks). In another embodiment, the sequence numbers are used to identify a line card with the most current FIB entry.

  • Patent number: 7386007
Abstract: Described is a method and apparatus for mapping Fast Ethernet data interfaces (in addition to possible data interfaces of different type) into a single VC-4 Virtual Container of a STM-1/OC-3 payload transmitted to a radio-link system. The method is characterized by the steps of: packeting the Fast Ethernet signal and any other signal, mapping the packets into a single (VC-4) Virtual Container of a STM-1/OC-3 payload of a SDH/SONET signal frame, and transmitting said signal frame through the point-to-point radio-link, said radio link being a point-to-point SDH/SONET radio link. All the packets have the same format and are associated to a header for identifying the source. The interfaces of different type are conveniently grouped. Possibly, the VC-4 is filled with null packets to exhaust the maximum available capacity.
