    Abstract: Film structures, packages, films and methods of making the same are provided wherein the film structures have a desiccant material incorporated into at least one layer of the film structures and further wherein the film structures can comprise a material for making a peelable seal when the film structures are heat sealed to other film structures. The film structures are utilized for a package to hold a product that may be sensitive to the presence of moisture. The product may preferably be pharmaceutical products, nutraceutical products, or devices such as absorbable sutures or medical stents, although any moisture-sensitive product is contemplated by the present invention.

    Abstract: A film having a line of weakness and a method for making a film having a line of weakness are provided. The film has a barrier layer of extruded ethylene vinyl alcohol laminated on one side to a first layer of oriented polypropylene having a score line therein. The barrier layer is laminated on its second side to a second layer of polyethylene teraphthalate having a score line therein. The score line in the oriented polypropylene layer and the score line in the polyethylene teraphthalate layer lie in a plane substantially perpendicular to a plane of the film forming the line of weakness.

The release properties of the nip roll material can permit intermittent contact without the coating adhering to the surface of the roller and wrapping the nip.
