  • Patent number: 8456280
Abstract: The invention relates to a product carrier comprising a first packaging unit wherein when opened a first switch of an integrated circuit of the product carrier is opened and at least one second packaging unit wherein when opened a second switch of the integrated circuit is opened. The circuit is configured and/or arranged to cooperate with electronic means so that a value correlating with the degree of filling of the product carrier can be determined on the basis of the number of closed and/or opened switches. Further, an antenna cooperates with the electronic means to transmit said value, the electric power for the electronic means may be introduced without contact, and the first and the second switch are connected in parallel.

  • Patent number: 8163127
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a packaging material with at least two films (12,16) or foils bonded together via at least one adhesive layer (13) to form a multi-layer laminate (10) is such that at least one adhesive layer is an electron-beam-curable adhesive and the laminate (10) is radiated with electrons in order to cure the adhesive. The laminate is particularly suitable for manufacturing pouch-type forms of packaging, in particular for snack foods. The production of laminate using electron-beam-curable adhesive results in a significant reduction in throughput time and in a reduction of solvent emissions by replacing solvent-based adhesives with electron-beam-curable adhesives.

  • Patent number: 7988805
Abstract: An unmixed plastic sheet, which is made of a thermoplastic material and which is composed of a number of body segments that are adjacent to one another in a plane, interconnected and made of a closed-cell foam material. The body segments are thermoplastically welded to one another at their abutting lateral faces while forming flat weld seams. The flat weld seams form a plastic intermediate layer, which has few pores, and which is provided in the form of a web structure that, when viewed from above, is reticular and reinforces the plastic sheet. The inventive plastic sheet is preferably used as a core layer in sandwich composites.

  • Publication number: 20100284187
Abstract: Planar illumination device comprise light-emitting illumination elements arranged on a carrier, containing an electrically conductive layer and an insulating 5 layer (LEDs). The light-emitting illumination elements are connected to current feed lines in the form of a conductor path. The light-emitting illumination elements are arranged as a succession of identical units on a continuous conductor path, in each case on the electrically insulating layer of the carrier. The current discharge from the light-emitting illumination elements is represented by a conductor discharging the current and by means of a connection to the electrically conductive layer of the carrier. The planar illumination device has any number of units extending in the longitudinal and transverse direction. Cutting zones, along which any units or groups of units can be separated off or separated out, are arranged between the units.

  • Publication number: 20100183469
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a profile by extruding powdered metal and/or powdered metal alloys. According to said method, a powder feedstock is heated to an extrusion temperature below the melting temperature of the powder and is expelled under pressure through an opening in a die to form the section. At least one metal or a metal alloy of the powder is a reactive metal that spontaneously forms a natural oxide layer on a free surface and/or the powder contains fibre-type particles that are distributed homogeneously in the powder feedstock and that absorb microwave radiation. The powder feedstock is heated to an extrusion temperature by microwave irradiation. The method permits rapid, uniform heating in all regions of the powder feedstock.
