  • Patent number: 5553247
Abstract: In the field of multiprocessor systems of the type including at least one processing module made up of processors which are connected to a main bus or several processing modules which communicate with each other via bus coupling modules, a bus deblocking system is provided in which, using a perfectly mastered process, progressive and iterative deblocking of a multibus system;subject to a general or overall blocked situation is achieved by allocating to a specific deblocking board a module blocking detection function and a bus release function for the module. The bus release function sends one single decongesting signal having the following effect on all the processors of the module: first, inhibition of the bus allocation system, the system employing simultaneous access request arbitration; and second, cancellation of the bus ownership signal.

  • Patent number: 5491577
Abstract: A tunable optical filter tuning device suitable for use in the receive part of an optical transmission system rejects some of the optical noise superimposed on a wanted optical signal. The device commands displacement of the characteristic of the optical filter along the wavelength axis and includes a tuning detector to detect the time at which this displacement can be stopped. The tuning detector includes an optical power detector receiving a signal from the optical filter and detects any modulation of a signal from the optical power detector. The displacement is stopped when the detector detects modulation of the signal from the optical power detector.

  • Patent number: 5471510
Abstract: A synchronization device, in an asynchronous transfer mode digital telecommunication network terminal equipment consists of: a jitter filter for filtering transfer jitter introduced by a network of this kind and affecting the clock frequency at which the equipment receives data via the network and for slaving the frequency of a local clock signal supplied by a local clock internal to the equipment to the output signal of the filter; buffers (MTB1, MTB2) written with the data at the clock frequency at which data is received by the equipment; and read controllers (5, 5') for reading the buffers at the clock frequency of the output signal of the filter with a time-delay relative to writing determined in such a way as to minimize the risks associated with excessively low bit rates in the recovery of data after such reading during the reaction time of the filter without departing from a permissible margin for the data recovery time-delay.

  • Patent number: 5469430
Abstract: In a method for simultaneous transmission of two heterochronous binary signals in the form of a single binary signal on a common physical medium, the second binary signal is timed by a bit clock whose period is greater than the minimal duration allowed for a bit of the first signal. For constituting the single binary signal transmitted there is provision for inserting between transitions of the first binary input signal a brief binary level inverting pulse for each bit of the second input signal which corresponds to the same one of the two possible binary levels of the second signal. Each temporary polarity inversion pulse due to the second signal is placed outside a guard area on either side of transitions of the first signal.

  • Patent number: 5469283
Abstract: An optical connection system for connecting customer premises networks to a switching center of a telecommunication network providing interactive and non-interactive services includes a switching center comprising central office termination equipments, a connection network, a control unit, an optical distribution network and customer premises networks. Non-interactive services are connected to the control central office termination equipment so that non-interactive service signals are sent to all customer premises networks on standby at the control central office termination equipment wavelength. These customer premises networks can therefore use these services without having to set up a call individually and so without having to busy a central office termination equipment for each customer premises network.

  • Patent number: 5466119
Abstract: A stack of parts, such as the stator disks of a turbomolecular pump, the parts being stacked alternately with spacers, includes a spacer having a knife-shaped deformable portion. When the stack is installed for the first time, the portion is compressed so as to take up the tolerances of the stack between abutment surfaces, e.g. delimited by a pump body and a corresponding casing. The invention applies in particular to turbomolecular pumps and aims to eliminate the operations of adjustment, re-machining, or matching that are usually required when installing a stator assembly.

  • Patent number: 5448015
Abstract: Two identical components assembled together constitute a guide rack for optical cables fixed at the bottom of a subrack fitted with circuit boards. Optical jumpers are guided between support members and guide members. Each optical cable is easily positioned pending connection with its terminal connector part resting between two support members. This avoids tangling of the optical jumpers and ensures that any of the cables connected to the front panel of any circuit board can be replaced by the cable put into the waiting position without risk of confusion.

  • Patent number: 5439357
Abstract: A positive-displacement machine comprising a piston situated in a casing. The outline of the piston is hypertrochoidal, as is the outline of the hollow inside volume of the casing. The piston has n axes of symmetry, and the casing has n+1 axes of symmetry. The piston rotates inside the casing in orbital motion about the axis .DELTA.c of the casing. To obtain the rotation in orbital motion, firstly the piston is freely rotatably mounted on a crank pin that has its axis offset relative to the axis of a supporting shaft that is coaxial with the axis .DELTA.c of the casing, the shaft being rotated, and secondly the surface of the piston and the surface of the hollow inside volume of the casing are equipped with permanent magnets creating magnetic repulsion forces.

  • Patent number: 5408348
Abstract: A system for re-establishing the transmission quality of a digital information transmission link including amplifier equipments in the event of failure of one or more amplifier equipments includes, associated with at least one of the amplifier equipments, a gain control device for varying the gain of the amplifier equipment in order to compensate for deterioration of the receive signal-to-noise ratio following failure of at least one other amplifier equipment. An error corrector coder at the send end of the link operates on the digital information to be transmitted and an error corrector decoder at the receive end of the link operates on the received digital information. The error corrector code used by the error corrector coder and decoder reduces or eliminate residual errors at the receiving end associated with residual deterioration of the receive signal-to-noise ratio not compensated by varying the gain.
