Abstract: Methods are disclosed for efficient scheduling of frequency resources (for example, subband and/or PRB locations) and/or identification of Modulation & Coding Scheme (MCS) for a UE in a wireless communication system. The UE may comprise, without limitation, a Low Complexity Machine Type Communication (LC-MTC) device. Frequency resource allocations (e.g., subband and/or PRB) are selected from among one or more subsets of available resource allocations (i.e., fewer than the entirety of possible resource allocations) within a frequency space, which allows the resource allocations to be specified with a relatively small number of DCI bits.
