  • Patent number: 6665550
Abstract: A telephone includes a body carrying an earpiece at one end and a flap at the other end integrating a microphone or reflecting sound towards a microphone. The flap can be foldable between a position to receive the sound of the voice and a folded position to reduce the overall size of the telephone when it is not in use or is on standby. The battery inserts in a cavity of a base of the flap so that when fitted it is integrated into the flap. Its use reduces the overall thickness of the telephone and makes it easier to handle.

  • Patent number: 5648737
Abstract: A method of setting the polarity of a digital signal coming from a first integrated circuit, said digital signal being representative of data generated within the integrated circuit and requiring application to an input of a second integrated circuit that requires a predetermined polarity. The method comprises storing the required polarity externally to said first integrated circuit at its digital signal output, an acquisition sequence for acquiring the stored polarity while the data is inactive, and an application sequence for applying the acquired polarity to the information when active in order to generate on an output of said first integrated circuit the digital signal for application to the input of said second integrated circuit. The method is applicable in digital systems that include integrated circuits that may come from different sources.

  • Patent number: 5603630
Abstract: A radiotelephone has a housing for receiving an adaptor member for adapting an antenna plug to a socket. The adaptor member has an electrical connection and mechanical coupling end designed to cooperate with the antenna plug and an at least electrical connection arrangement adapted to cooperate with the socket. The socket comes into electrical contact with the connection arrangement purely by axial insertion of the adaptor member into the housing. The adaptor member is held in the housing by a manually operable holding device to provide an electrical connection between the antenna plug and the socket. The system may be used to connect any commercially available antenna to a specific radiotelephone and is compatible with a large number of antenna attachment/detachment maneuvers.

  • Patent number: 5584021
Abstract: A programmer produces binary output signals changing state during time intervals identified by a timing signal. Each output signal goes to the active or the inactive state, i.e. starts and ends during separate time intervals. The programmer includes a memory storing a start location and an end location for each output signal, respectively, holding the signal's start and end time intervals. The operation of a read unit for reading the values in these locations is determined by a control unit using an address generator so that the possibility of a change of state is examined for each output signal during each time interval. A comparator produces an identity signal if a first field of the read location has the same value as a first field of the time interval in which the reading takes place. A decoder changes the state of the output signal corresponding to the location for which the identity signal is produced.

  • Patent number: 5483531
Abstract: A mobile station of a mobile radio network includes speech exchange arrangements and data exchange arrangements. Selector arrangements select the speech exchange arrangements by default and change to the data exchange arrangements when necessary. The data exchange arrangements comprise a set of components for sorting, analyzing and processing the data and the commands exchanged between two terminal equipments so that a mobile terminal equipment capable of exchanging data according to a first standard (the V.24 standard+modem protocol, for example) can communicate with another, remote terminal equipment via a digital network using a second standard (V.110+GSM network, for example).

  • Patent number: 5471648
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for correcting a frequency shift due to the Doppler effect in a transmission system. The device for correcting a frequency shift due to the Doppler effect is applicable to a transmission system in which a signal is transmitted in a transmission lobe between a transmitter and a receiver that are in relative motion. The frequency shift which is the difference between the frequency of the transmitted signal as measured at the receiver and as measured at the transmitter is presented as the sum of a center frequency characteristic of the transmission lobe plus a position frequency which is a function of the position of the receiver in the transmission lobe. The device includes means for tuning the receiver which has a tuning frequency such that said tuning frequency is equal to the sum of the transmitted frequency plus the center frequency.

  • Patent number: 5465394
Abstract: A device for seeking a connection between a terminal and a mobile radio system includes a synchronization unit for establishing in response to a control signal if the connection can be achieved and a time-delay unit for producing, after an initial period, the control signal after a first waiting period. The time-delay unit produces the control signal again after a second waiting period if it is established that the connection cannot be achieved after the first waiting period. The time-delay unit fixes the duration of the second waiting period so that it is greater than that of the first waiting period. If the device is implemented in a terminal having a battery whose capacity is represented by a capacity indicator, the time-delay unit fixes at least one of the waiting periods according to the capacity indicator.

  • Patent number: 5380997
Abstract: Resilient wipers (4a, 4b) cooperate with inclined planes (13a, 13b) to maintain the card (7) constantly parallel to the base part (1) of the card reader during the introduction of the card into the reading compartment (12). The free ends of the wipers (4a, 4b) are biased into a plane further from that of the base part (1) than that which the free ends of the reading wipers (3a, 3b) tend to assume. This device is simple and compact and makes it possible to eliminate static electricity created by the card rubbing against the card reader.
