Abstract: An average coefficient of static friction between skin and paper is determined based on pinch-strength measurements and a corresponding maximum weight of bucket and water before slippage occurs. With the coefficient of static friction determined, a pinch-strength threshold for impairment uniquely determines the threshold for a weight of a pinch test apparatus using one or more common or household material(s), such as bucket and water. A patient using such apparatus at home can therefore put sufficient water in the bucket to reach this weight and see if they can lift the bucket or not, thereby determining whether or not impairment exists.

Abstract: A method and system addresses the circumstance where a lack of confidence in the impairment rating has arrested the impairment rating process and additional data collection is no longer possible. One or more incomplete data sets are compared to and corrected with a high accuracy database containing reviewed historical impairment data. An analysis of the data outputs a temporary impairment rating and a recovery score index, which yields a corrected and substantially accurate impairment rating report which can be used within the managed impairment repair process as the worker's compensation claim moves toward claim closure.

Abstract: A method and system for calculating a deficiency analysis that provides a percentage of missing data for an impairment rating based on an observed data set. Comparing an observed data set with an ideal data set based on one or more administrative rule sets for an injury event allows one or more stakeholders within the workers compensation process to obtain a risk score and/or deficiency report for the observed data and the resulting impairment rating. One or more risk scores and/or deficiency reports can be used to track quality and consistency of a clinician and quality and consistency across a medical provider network. After a risk score for an impairment rating is output, the risk score can be uploaded to a historical evaluation database for a percentile creation against other reports of similar body systems.

The method and system utilizes a recovery score index for determining whether the individual is medically stable and one or more recovery phase classifications for determining that available treatment has been provided to the individual. Based on these metrics, the present invention is able to determine a highly accurate and objective maximum medical improvement status and dating assignment.

Abstract: A method and system enhances the execution of the telemedicine impairment repair process (IRP) to claim closure by assisting all stakeholders by monitoring the process and reminding the stakeholders of the stakeholder roles and responsibilities to maintain a prudent time frame for the reported injury and/or illness. The method of and system for executing an impairment repair process addresses flaws in the current process by implementing timing guided by legislation and best medical practice. Key aspects of the impairment repair process are addressed to ensure prudent timing by assuring accuracy of claim development, monitoring, and initiating communication to closure. The process is implemented in multiple stages including, assessment, documentation, prescribed treatment, and analysis of outcome.
