  • Patent number: 4975548
Abstract: An electrical switching device of the dual in-line package type. A multiple-pole switching device contains a plurality of independent switching elements aligned on individual pole planes. Each switching element includes first and second terminals and stationary contacts centered on the pole plane. A movable contact engages a first stationary contact and is held in position by a boss on a cover actuator. An actuator, captured in the cover-actuator, includes a cam that engages an intermediate portion of the movable contact to move the second end of the movable contact into engagement with the second stationary contact to complete an electrical circuit. The cam and movable contact are configured to produce a detent action as the actuator moves between open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 4918273
Abstract: An inverted U-shaped contact for the slider of a slide switch having a longitudinal axis comprises two pairs of teeth connected longitudinally by a transversely generally semicircular elongated member, each tooth extending downward from the elongated member in a curved convex clasping shape. The opposed convex surfaces of each pair face the other in clasping configuration.

  • Patent number: 4687887
Abstract: A dual-in-line switch package includes a base, a slider, and a cover. The base comprises the in-line-terminals and on its upper part the corresponding contact pins. The slider contains at least one contact having teeth to contact the pins. A handle is used for moving the slider to its different positions. The cover has an opening for access to the upwardly extending handle. The base has a projecting detent on its upper surface. The slider has located on its bottom surface a pair of detent receiving recesses. The detent and recesses comprise a detent assembly which retain the slider in one of two operative positions.

  • Patent number: 4480159
Abstract: A toggle switch of sub-miniature dimensions eliminates the need for machining flat parts on the toggle lever or drilling a pin on the toggle lever by mounting a one piece lever lock insert within the upper portion of the cylindrical housing of the toggle lever, above the spherical portion of the lever, the insert having three aligned, generally truncated conical recesses in the top surface thereof, the larger openings being each adapted to selectively receive the generally circular, spring pressed detent on the end of the toggle handle and the smaller openings merging with the straight parallel side walls of a guide slot, equal in width to the diameter of the toggle lever, and also formed in the lever lock insert, none of the lever lock structure extending laterally beyond the externally threaded, generally cylindrical housing.

  • Patent number: 4340793
Abstract: A sub-miniature, two position, double pole switch has flat, planar terminals of rectangular cross section with projecting portions outside the case bent at right angles, all in the same plane, to the portions inside the case, and having blades of reduced dimensions for insertion in the circular apertures of a modular printed circuit board. The flat planar terminals are pre-formed initially with the right angular configuration before receiving at least one coating layer thereon, to avoid cracks in the coating due to bending. The coatings compromise a nickel barrier and a gold plate layer.

  • Patent number: 4255638
Abstract: A miniature switch, having a projecting handle housing, is provided with a factory installed environmental sealed cover which stops solder, flux and cleaning solvents before they enter the contact cavity within the switch. The switch case is enclosed in a second case of plastic with a hardened layer of epoxy in the space between cases and across the open bottom of the second case to substantially encapsulate the switch. An annular bead of hardened epoxy seals the exposed, projecting, handle housing at its base in its aperture in the second case to complete the seal.

  • Patent number: 4254310
Abstract: A multi-pole toggle switch achieves sub-miniature dimensions by mounting the four see-saw contacts, four stationary contacts and four actuating pads in two parallel, linear rows, each row on an opposite side of the path of the tip of the toggle lever plunger within the switch housing. A single actuator block carries the four pads and pressure is applied by a single spring from the plunger tip to the sliding block, then to the pads and then to the see-saw contacts. A depending tongue on the block slides in a groove in the base to form a moving insulation barrier between the rows of contacts.

  • Patent number: 4191387
Abstract: A toggle switch of the type used on the casing of a camera or intercom device solves the problem of moisture entering the casing through the switch to thereby damage the electronic circuitry, cause rust, mildew and other damage. The exterior of the switch housing is watertight by reason of a turn nut compressing an O ring. The interior of the toggle switch handle housing is made watertight, while still permitting toggle motion, by an elongated seal of solid cross section engaging the outer face of the bulbous portion of the handle and a second elongated seal of solid cross section engaging the inner face of the bulbous portion.

  • Patent number: 4117284
Abstract: A subminiature, three position switch has a rocker, or see-saw, moveable contact which is free of conventional side tabs and tab guides, these being precluded by the limited space available. Instead, the rocker arm is of uniform cross section except for a pair of lateral grooves in the under face, each on an opposite side of a central depression, for the tip of the actuator rod. A U-shaped support means, electrically connected to the common central terminal, has a pair of upstanding, legs, or blades, each arranged to be received in one of the grooves to prevent longitudinal sliding of the contact arm, when tilted.

  • Patent number: 4110574
Abstract: A sub-miniature, two position, double pole switch has flat, terminals of rectangular cross section with projecting portions, bent at right angles to the portions inside the case, and having blades of reduced dimensions for insertion in the circular apertures of a modular printed circuit board. The inner portions of the flat terminals, and the dual rockers are separated by an insulator member having an elongated tongue groove for slidably receiving a tongue on the insulated tip of the spring pressed handle. The tongue and groove means prevents arcing, twisting and uneven closing of the switch.

  • Patent number: 4058764
Abstract: A combined pilot light and ground testing assembly for conventional 120 volt A.C. circuits is secured in the front panel of an electric console, secured to the male A.C. plug at the end of a cable, or secured to other appropriate equipment. It includes a pair of lamp chambers spaced from a third lamp in rectilinear alignment. When both of the juxtaposed pair of chambers are lit as a dual pilot light a perfect condition exists. Any other combination of lighted lamp chambers indicates an unsafe condition in the circuitry.
