  • Patent number: 11006826
Abstract: A calibration method for a camera-based measuring device comprises positioning a calibration object simulating an anterior region of the eye on a holder arranged movably in a first direction relative to a camera of the measuring device within a view field of the camera. The first direction is toward and away from the camera substantially along a camera axis. A motorized drive unit, in drive connection with the holder, is firstly controlled to drive the holder, with the calibration object positioned thereon in the camera view field, relative to the camera along the first direction at least once past a position of maximum definition of an image of the calibration object taken by the camera. A ratio between an actual size and an imaging size of the calibration object is determined on the basis of a camera image of the calibration object taken at the position of maximum definition.

  • Patent number: 11007080
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method for cutting a flap in laser ophthalmic surgery using polarization sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT). The system includes a PS-OCT system, a femtosecond laser, control device, and processor. The PS-OCT system includes a PS-OCT source, a polarization component, a reference reflector, a beam splitter, a wave plate, and a detector. The processor receives data relating to an interference pattern of a reflected PS-OCT beam, received at the detector, determines a relative fiber orientation of the sample, determines whether a photodisruption pattern generated by the femtosecond laser to cut the flap should be adjusted horizontally or vertically, based on the relative fiber orientation, and may generate a control signal to adjust the photodisruption pattern generated by the femtosecond laser. The disclosure further provides a method for cutting a flap on an eye using PS-OCT.

  • Patent number: 10994505
Abstract: A method of manufacturing of an astigmatic contact lens having a toric portion and a ballast portion such that said ballast portion causes the toric portion of the contact lens to properly orient in the eye of the wearer. The toric lenses are manufactured by an effective process control method for cylinder axis angle in toric lens production by modifying the target cylinder angle for mold rotation by eliminating the accumulative cylinder axis error from all previous steps including tool making, tool assembly, and molding. The amount modifying the target angle is determined by accurately determine the true cylinder axis on the corresponding mold by using a high-resolution interferometer, such as FISBA FS10M or equivalent models from Trioptics ?Shape® vertical series.
