Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to conducting electronic transactions via a computer network. A server receives data packets carrying data identifying a merchant category, an electronic account maintained and configured on the server, and a first monetary amount of a first electronic transaction. A first device generates the data packets at the merchant to conduct the electronic transaction. A policy engine selects a first purse of a plurality of purses allocated to the electronic account based on a policy applied to the data. The first purse may be configured as a benefits purse. The server obtains the first monetary amount of the electronic transaction from the first purse. The policy engine applies a second policy to the data to determine a reimbursement amount based on the first monetary amount of the transaction, and electronically provides the reimbursement amount to a different second purse of the electronic account.

  • Publication number: 20210035108
Abstract: Detecting and controlling fraud in centralized processing is provided. A system receives data packets carrying electronic transactions, and clusters the electronic transactions based on an intermediary identifier of each of the electronic transactions to identify a first cluster and a second cluster. The system generates a first model for the first cluster and a second model for the second cluster. The system detects a fraudulent electronic transaction having a first source identifier. The system locks a first data structure to prevent transfer of a first resource in electronic transactions associated with the first source identifier. The system identifies source identifiers associated with the first cluster in a first tier. The system locks absent detection of the fraudulent electronic transaction in one or more electronic transaction associated with the source identifiers, the data structure corresponding to each of the source identifiers in the first cluster.

  • Patent number: 10770181
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to reducing resource consumption via information technology infrastructure. A server of the present disclosure receives one or more data packets including data indicating a healthcare transaction event. The server selects healthcare trend model trained by the server using previously received data packets. The server determines a correlation coefficient between each of a plurality of healthcare related recommendations and the selected healthcare trend model. The server retrieves a notification template from a notification data structure that maps to the highest ranking healthcare related recommendation. The server generates a request to deliver the notification corresponding to the highest ranking healthcare related recommendation at a destination address of a computing device of a participant.

  • Patent number: 10565599
Abstract: A system includes a device configured with a tool that interfaces with administrator devices remote from the device. The system receives an identifier of an administrator of an administrator device. The system retrieves an administrator profile corresponding to the identifier. The system identifies one or more administrator profiles stored in the administrator profile data structure of one or more different administrators. The system determines a similarity metric between the administrator profile and each of the identified administrator profiles. The system identifies the administrator profiles having the similarity metric satisfying a predetermined threshold. The system instantiates a dynamic report interface to render an electronic report indicating a first value of a first performance metric of the administrator based on the administrator profile and a second value of the first performance metric based on the identified administrator profiles.

  • Patent number: 10395006
Abstract: Methods and systems provide substantiation proof of claims made against medical spending accounts. Medical-insurance adjudication explanations are received at a benefits-records system, specifying a medical-insurance claim submitted to a medical insurer and identifying an adjudication decision of the medical insurance claim. The medical-insurance adjudication explanations are stored in a common format. A request is received from an insured party to apply a payment amount to a medical spending account. The payment amount corresponds to an expense associated with a medical-insurance claim submitted to one of the medical insurers but not paid. The request is posted to a third-party administrator with information from the corresponding medical-insurance adjudication explanations.

  • Patent number: 8464937
Abstract: The present invention relates to a real time account control method and system that allows only eligible and authorized items to be purchased using the account. The present invention relates particularly to healthcare spending accounts such as flexible spending accounts and health reimbursement arrangements. The method can comprise the steps of: establishing at least one account, each account having an account holder; identifying at least one item eligible for purchase using one of the accounts; identifying at least one item authorized for purchase using one of the accounts; and, upon request to purchase an item using one of the accounts, authorizing the purchase for an amount not to exceed an available balance in that account only if the item is both an item identified as eligible for purchase and an item authorized for purchase.

  • Patent number: 8438106
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for managing a medical savings account that invests funds in investment accounts. A request is received for payment of a healthcare expense incurred by a party authorized for recovery under the medical savings account. A balance is drawn against a line of credit secured by one or more of the investment accounts. At least a portion of the healthcare expense is paid with funds obtained from the drawn balance. At least a portion of some of the investment accounts are liquidated in accordance with instructions provided by the party or by an owner of the medical savings account to satisfy the drawn balance of the line of credit.

  • Patent number: 8412540
Abstract: Methods and systems permit registration of a service provider and permit eligibility information to be provided to the service provider. Registration information is received over a financial network from a point-of-sale terminal. The registration information has an identifier associated with the point-of-sale terminal and an identification of the service provider. The identifier is associated with information identifying a device disposed at a location of the service provider in a database, permitting a communication path to the device to be established. A confirmation of registration of the point-of-sale terminal is transmitted to the device over the communication path.
