Abstract: There is provided a LED (light emitting diode) lamp assembly including a heat sink having a cooling structure with an outer circumference part and a centre part that supports a plurality of LEDs, and wherein a material thickness of the cooling structure increases inwards from the outer circumference part to the centre of the heat sink. There is also provided a LED lamp assembly including a heat sink having a centre, an outer circumference part supporting a plurality of LEDs, and a cooling structure with a number of vent-holes allowing passage of air, where the cooling structure is supported by the outer circumference part and extending inwards towards the centre from the outer circumference part, and where a material thickness of the cooling structure may decrease inwards from the outer circumference part to the centre of the heat sink.
