Patent number: 8910650Abstract: A method for process optimization for a valve (1) comprising a valve seat (5) arranged in a valve housing (3) between an inlet (7) and an outlet (8), comprising a valve disk (4) which is connected to an actuating rod (10) and comprising an actuating device (2) which acts on the actuating rod (10), by which means the valve disk (4) is brought into a closed position (23) for closing the valve (1) and is pressed onto the valve seat (5) and for opening the valve (1) is raised from the valve seat (5) and brought into an opening position (26), wherein fluid flows through the valve (1) for carrying out the method in the course of cleaning, can be improved with regard to a better cleaning effect in remote regions (14, 15, 16) of the interior (17) of the valve housing (3) whereby during cleaning the valve disk (4) is brought into at least one intermediate position (24, 24, 31) between the closed position (23) and the open position (26).Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2008Date of Patent: December 16, 2014Assignee: Alfa Laval Kolding A/SInventors: Jens Folkmar Andersen, Karsten Schack Madsen, Kenneth Rehhoff

Patent number: 8671989Abstract: In order to improve a drive arrangement (15) for valve devices (1) comprising a closing member (3), comprising a movable drive element (6) for making an operative connection with the closing member (3), pre-tensioning means for exerting a pre-tensioning force on the drive element (6) in order to hold the closing member (3) in a base position, preferably closed position, against the working forces acting on the closing member (3), and driving means (17, 21) to move the drive element (6) from the base position against the pre-tensioning force in the direction of the working forces, with a view to the disadvantages of the known drive arrangements, in particular in order to reduce the weight, it is proposed that the pre-tensioning means comprises a compressible fluid, preferably compressed air (21), enclosed in a pre-tensioning container (16), with a static pressure for producing the pre-tensioning force.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2008Date of Patent: March 18, 2014Assignee: Alfa Laval Kolding A/SInventors: Jens Folkmar Andersen, Karsten Schack Madsen, Kenneth Rehhoff

Patent number: 8210197Abstract: A cleaning system for cleaning a valve seat, where the valve seat is formed of at least one gasket for sealing between a housing and a stem, preferably for a double seat valve and where at least one guide band is centering the stem in the housing, where the stem has a cut out, allowing a cleaning liquid to flush the seat, when the stem is in a cleaning position, and where the guide band is still centering the stem while in the cleaning position. By putting the stem into a cleaning position, the cut out in the stem is positioned in the area of the gasket and thereby allowing the cleaning liquid to pass the gasket and the guide band via a small gap between the guide band and the stem itself. This way the seat is flushed with cleaning liquid and is thereby cleaned.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2009Date of Patent: July 3, 2012Assignees: Alfa Laval Kolding A/S, Alfa Laval Corporate ABInventors: Karl-Aage Lindholm Jensen, Per Schneidereit, James Louis Larsen, Christian Karl Thommen, III, Roger James Ashton

Patent number: 8172549Abstract: In order to ventilate a centrifugal pump (1) having a centrifugal pump outlet space (6) and a centrifugal pump suction space (4), as well as having an additional ventilation pump (3), preferably configured as a vacuum pump, having a ventilation pump inlet (14) and a ventilation pump outlet (15), which pump has a particularly simple structure and which can automatically ventilate itself, if necessary, without any complicate switching processes, it is proposed that both the ventilation pump inlet (14) and the ventilation pump outlet (15) are connected with the centrifugal pump outlet space (6) by way of a connection line (16, 17), in each instance, forming a secondary line.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2007Date of Patent: May 8, 2012Assignee: Alfa Laval Kolding A/SInventor: Jesper Raabjerg Jensen
