Patent number: 4964537Abstract: A plastic cap assembly has a base cap that can be installed on the neck of a container. Within the base cap there is a pour spout that serves as a sealing pin, can be moved axially upwards and downwards, and is closed off at the top. On the base cap there is a screw cap that can be turned. The screw cap has a central opening in which the pour spout that serves as the sealing pin engages when in the closed position. The pour spout has an outside thread that engages with an inside thread beneath the central opening in the screw cap. The advantges of this cap assembly lie in its good sealing characteristics and in the fact that, provided with a suitable penetrator, it can be used on containers sealed with a membrane or a foil.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1988Date of Patent: October 23, 1990Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4949883Abstract: This invention relates to a one-piece closure which has a lower part and a cap connected with a hinge. The side walls of the lower part are inclined from the cover surface to the exterior. A discharge spout penetrates the cover surface. The discharge spout is inclined and parallel to a side wall part in the area of the hinge. The specific geometry of the closure makes it possible to inject into a mold a one-piece hinge closure, with walls inclined outwardly, without using a slide unit. This invention also makes it possible to construct the lower part of the closure as a tube head.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1989Date of Patent: August 21, 1990Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4921113Abstract: A snap closure with original seal safety is particularly suited for bottles with bulging rim areas on the bottle neck. The original safety sealing takes place by means of a release element, which comprises a pressing element which is bounded on both sides by weak points. The release element forms a portion of the circumferential wall. In order that the release element not be torn further than desired, the weak points proceeding in the axial direction of the closure reach only into the area of an annular bulge positioned on the internal surface of the circumferential wall. The release element itself, which has at least one corrugation, is connected with the circumferential wall by means of a film hinge, and can pivot by 90 degrees upon destruction of the weak points.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1988Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4911324Abstract: A plastic closure having a lower part and an upper part that fit together, the upper part being connected to the lower part by a film hinge. The upper part has, on its inner side, an extending portion with projecting sealing elements which form, with the outlet of a container, a sealing connection. The upper part is additionally connected with the lower part in a pivoting manner by a snap hinge. The snap hinge is connected with the upper part by a film hinge, and connected with the lower part by a film hinge. For purposes of opening, the film hinge connecting the upper part and the lower part is bent. The closure can be placed or screwed onto a container with its lower part. The closure can be produced in a closed condition.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1988Date of Patent: March 27, 1990Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Dubach

Patent number: 4869399Abstract: A plastic cap assembly with a base cap and a cap that is formed in one piece and may be installed on the neck of the container that is sealed with a foil or a membrane. A projection in the flat wall of the base cap has on its underside a penetrator with which the foil can be penetrated. The contents of the container can then flow through the hole in the foil from the penetrator to the pour opening. The cap assembly is simple to operate and to produce; it supports the foil and in addition can be safety sealed. It is particularly well-suited for containers used for readily oxidizable foodstuffs such as ketchup, for example.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4854473Abstract: A snap hinge closure connects two parts, such as, for example, a lower and an upper part of a closure. Both parts have casing walls which, in the closed position of the hinge, match vertically above one another. On both sides of the film hinge, tension bands are positioned, which, in the closed position, are tensed. The tension bands are held, with their ends, in recesses (11) in the casing walls, and have, over their entire length, an approximately uniform cross section. The outermost surfaces of the tension bands align with the casing external surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1988Date of Patent: August 8, 1989Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Dubach

Patent number: 4802597Abstract: The two-sided plastic stopper has a lower portion (1) that can be secured to the neck of a container (14, 15) and a measuring cup (2) which can be reversed and set on the lower portion so as to form a seal, this serving as a cap. A tubular spout (11) is surrounded by a concentric annular wall (12). In this way a trough (18) is formed together with the connecting wall (13) between the spout (11) and the annular wall (12), this trough having a drain (19) that leads back to the container. Within the base of the measuring cup (21) there is a centrally arranged annular wall (23) in the form of a sealing plug. This sealing plug (23) and the tubular spout (11) fit together in a form fit so as to seal each other and have connecting means that act together, preferably threads (17, 24, respectively).Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1988Date of Patent: February 7, 1989Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4722449Abstract: A container closure attachable directly or indirectly to a container neck sealed by means of a pierceable film seal. The provision of a film seal covering the container neck guarantees the user that the contents of the container are authentic and original as supplied by the manufacturer. The film seal is pierced as the closure is adjusted from an intact to an access position on the container neck. In the upper intact position, a safety band remains intact. The closure can be adjusted to the lower access position only after the safety band has been removed, and the film seal is pierced as the closure is adjusted to the lower access position. Ratchet-like serrations may be provided on the inner side of the safety band engaging the container, thus making it impossible to unscrew a screw-type closure without removing the safety band. The safety band may be provided on a separate intermediate piece which may be snap-fitted or screwed onto the container neck.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1986Date of Patent: February 2, 1988Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4717033Abstract: A one-piece closure with a snap-on hinged type closure provided with a safety band. When the safety band is still intact, the closure cannot be opened. Once the safety band has been removed, the closure is movable to a lower position relative to the upper edge of the container neck by rotation about a threaded container neck or by downward axial movement. While the closure is in its upper position and the safety band is intact, a catch engages underneath a projection on the base of the closure and prevents the cap from being opened. When the closure is in its lower position, the upper edge of the container neck releases the catch from behind the projection and the sealing cap can be opened. While the safety band is still intact, interaction of an external ratchet-like serration on the container neck and an internal serration on the safety band may prevent the closure from being rotated.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1986Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4696408Abstract: A one piece plastic closure comprises a base which is attachable to a container and a cap attached to the base of the closure by a hinge. A safety band is molded together with the base, to which it may be attached by webs. The safety band overlays approximately half the perimeter of the cap and its height is generally the same as that of the cap itself. In this way, the cap cannot be grasped in the area opposite the hinge, and thus cannot be opened. A lug may additionally be provided on the cap which is engageable in a corresponding recess in the safety band to provide the closure in a closed and sealed condition, thus holding the closure and preventing it from opening under the effect of excess pressure in the container.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1986Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Patent number: 4573600Abstract: A synthetic material closure, which is superimposable on firm or deformable containers or is an integral component of a container, presents a lower part and a cap or cover. The cap is integrally joined over at least one tensioning band with the lower part. The tensioning bands run in a plane which cuts the synthetic material closure, i.e. cap and lower part in the closed stage of the closure. The closure can be realized with or without hinge. The arrangement of the tensioning bands in the above-described manner brings about a closing force. These can be mounted on a large number of different container, or be a component of a can.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1984Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Assignee: Alfatechnic AGInventor: Werner F. Dubach
