  • Patent number: 4881826
Abstract: An under-base guiding system for a drawer of a piece of furniture is described, wherein the body of the piece of furniture is provided with sidewalls, a front batten, and rails having guide rollers, and wherein the drawer is provided with rails having guide rollers. The body rails are situated below the base of the drawer, and are secured to the front batten of the body by a front connector and to the rear wall of the body by a rear connector. The drawer rails and body rails interengage beneath the drawer base via the guide rollers.Since the guiding system is located under the base of the draw, it possesses the advantage that it can be concealed, and can provide maximum space utilization of the drawer, relatively great strength, and ease of adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4870716
Abstract: A covering element for a furniture hinge has a central channel portion which is substantially U-shaped in cross-section. The sides of the U-shaped section are extended at one end beyond the base of the U and the extensions have aligned holes formed in them to receive a pin for pivotal connection to a hinge member. The cover encloses parts of the hinge used for adjusting the relative angular and spatial positions of the hinge members, to prevent accidental displacement. In the closed position of the covering element, inwardly turned extensions of the channel edges form a snap fit around a hinge casing, and the end of the hinge is enclosed by an angled-over extension of the channel base.

  • Patent number: 4862555
Abstract: An adjustable fitting for a cabinet with a door adapted to swing up over the head of the user for adjustable fastening of the door-side end of a swivel arm to the inner side of the door embodies a bearing plate pivotally attached to the door-side end of the swivel arm and a base plate fixedly secured to the inner side of the door. A hook-shaped holding lug formed in the base plate slideably engages a cutout and associated shoulder surface conformed in the bearing plate. Open-ended slots are provided in the bearing plate through which locking screws are inserted into threaded holes of associated raised ears in the upper surface of the base plate opposite the holding lug. The locking screws have collar portions which are larger in diameter than the open ends of the open-ended slots and threaded portions which are smaller in diameter than the open ends of the open-ended slots.

  • Patent number: 4862556
Abstract: An adjustable base plate for fastening a hinge to a furniture part embodies a base plate having at least one fastening hole therein for receiving an insert which is displaceable in the lengthwise direction of the fastening hole. The insert has a center hole of a pre-determined diameter along the longitudinal axis of the insert adapted to receive a threaded fastening screw. The fastening screw has a collar of a pre-determined diameter which is smaller than the diameter of the center hole in the area of the fastening hole of the base plate. The insert has a top part for engagement in the fastening hole of the base plate and a bottom part joined to the top part by a breakable connection adaptable to be broken by the threads of the fastening screw. The bottom part is adapted to be inserted in a hole in the furniture part and to expand into frictional engagement with the side walls of the hole in the furniture part upon insertion of the fastening screw.

  • Patent number: 4839940
Abstract: The furniture hinge with snap closure has a housing that can be sunk in a recess of a door part and articulates with a hinge arm through at least one joint plate, the hinge arm being detachably connectable with a mounting plate fastened to the furniture part by two or more fastening and adjusting screws. The connection between the hinge arm and the mounting plate on the furniture side is designed as a snap closure with a spring-loaded rotary slider pivoting at the end of the furniture-side part of the hinge away from the door. The furniture-side mounting plate has a two-part design, the bottom section bearing the spring-loaded rotary slider and the top section being connected with the hinge arm. Form-fitting connections are arranged between the top section and the bottom section of the mounting plate that center automatically in both the direction of the longitudinal axis of the hinge and in the direction vertical thereto when the two sections are guided toward each other in order to close the hinge.

  • Patent number: 4834556
Abstract: A guide rail for drawers or the like is attachable to a sidewall of a piece of furniture. The guide rail has a row of first fastening apertures arranged along the longitudinal axis of the rail and mutually spaced so as to correspond to a pattern of drillings in the sidewall, which pattern conforms to a first, European system. The rail also has a row of second fastening apertures having a spacing conforming to a second, United States system. The rows of fastening apertures conforming to the first system and to the second system are situated in a common horizontal plane in one embodiment of the invention, with the apertures in one row intersecting the apertures in the other row.
