Abstract: A gutter debris barrier system is provided that includes a frame that is configured for direct attachment to a building and a filter screen for preventing debris from entering a gutter while allowing water to flow therethrough. The frame may include a floor with slots punched therein, with ribs on either side of the slots that form channels. The channels may be tapered to improve the speed and efficiency of heat transfer, and also to funnel water down into the gutter. The frame is made of a durable material, such as extruded aluminum. The frame has a first mounting flange that can bend and flex relative to the remaining portions of the frame, which allows for enough flexibility to enable the frame to be mounted directly to the building.
Abstract: A gutter debris barrier system for preventing debris from entering a gutter includes a frame that is attached to a fascia of a building and a filter screen. The frame may include a floor with slots punched therein, with ribs on either side of the slots that form channels. The channels may be tapered to improve the speed and efficiency of heat transfer, and also to funnel water down into the gutter. The ribs may have planar upper surfaces or tips lying in a common horizontal plane and supporting a flat filter screen.
Abstract: A heat panel system for preventing ice formation about a roof or gutter includes at least two heat panels that are connected using a fastener. The heat panels each include a body including at least one channel configured to accept a heating element. Tongues and grooves or other mating arrangements on the panels and the fastener permit two panels to be joined by a fastener so as to inhibit relative lateral movement and enhance heat transfer between panels. A single panel or a multi-panel system can be mounted directly on the roof, and/or a single panel system can be mounted in a gutter. By using these heat panels and fasteners, heat panel systems of varying widths can be made using the same supplies.
