Abstract: A dielectric resonator loaded cavity filter comprises a housing having an exterior and an interior, the housing interior including at least two adjacent cavities having dielectric resonators mounted therein. The adjacent cavities are separated by a transverse partition having a coupling window therein, the coupling window having first and second spaced opposing sidewalls. In one embodiment a coupling disk is interposed between opposing sidewalls of the transverse partition. In another embodiment a coupling strip extends from a shoulder portion of a first opposing sidewall toward a shoulder portion of a second opposing sidewall.
Abstract: An electromagnetic bandstop filter comprises a microwave circuit, at least one microwave resonator, coupling means that couples electromagnetic energy to and from the microwave resonator, and an impedance transformer coupled to, and in series with, the coupling means, wherein the transformer is coupled to the resonator only through the coupling means, and wherein the impedance transformer is shunt coupled to the microwave circuit. The impedance transformer comprises at least two series-connected transmission line sections of different impedances.
Abstract: A system and method for distribution of RF communication signals. First RF communication signals are downconverted in a first signal processing subsystem and transmitted to a second signal processing subsystem via twisted-pair cable. The downconverted first RF communication signals are upconverted at the second signal processing subsystem to provide recovered first RF communication signals, and the recovered first RF communication signals are transmitted via an antenna. Operating power for the second signal processing subsystem is provided from the signal processing subsystem, and the second signal processing subsystem determines the occurrence of an event and transmits autonomous information signals thereabout to the first signal processing subsystem.
Abstract: An antenna assembly having a base plate and at least one integrally formed antenna array mounted thereon, the antenna array having a pair of dipole antennas and an elongated transmission line, one of the dipole antennas being integrally formed with each end of the transmission line, with each dipole antenna comprising a pair of oppositely directed, elongated dipole arms, one of the arms being continuous in a direction transverse to its length in plan view and the other of the arms comprising a pair of spaced apart arm elements in a direction transverse to its length in plan view, and for each of the dipole antennas, mounting means integrally formed with each of the pair of dipole arms for securing the antenna array to the antenna assembly. A method of forming the antenna from a blank and by a series of folding steps is also disclosed.
