Patent number: 11674712Abstract: A heating ventilating and cooling (HVAC) system includes an outdoor air chase having a first end and a second end. The second end of the outdoor air chase is fluidly coupled to a condenser compartment at a location to receive outside air from the condenser compartment and the first end is fluidly coupled to the return air compartment. The outdoor air chase has a conduit through the outdoor air chase. The system includes a configurable flow regulating plate disposed in the outdoor air chase member across the conduit or otherwise across the outdoor airflow that has a plurality of discharge apertures. Initially, the plurality of discharge apertures is covered by a plurality of knockout panels. Each panel is removably secured to the plate. In installation, the installer removes as many of the knockout panels as required for a desired flow of outdoor air. Other systems and methods are presented.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2019Date of Patent: June 13, 2023Assignee: Allied Air Enterprises LLCInventors: WenYen Huang, Mitchell Evan Lockhart, Jeffrey Paul Gedcke, Anthony Edward Spiggle

Patent number: 10712059Abstract: A distributor assembly for a space conditioning system comprising a sealed expansion device and a sealed distributor housing. The expansion device has a first opening, a second opening and an interior chamber there-between. The interior chamber contains an orifice housing, wherein the orifice housing has a through-hole orifice therein. The orifice housing is configured to move between the first opening and the second opening within the interior chamber. An outer surface of the orifice housing forms a fluid stop around the first opening such that a refrigeration fluid of the space conditioning system delivered through the second opening can substantially only pass through the through-hole orifice to the first opening. The distributor housing has a largest opening that is permanently sealed to the first opening of the sealed expansion device and a plurality of smaller openings configured to be fluidly connected to a heat-exchange coil of the space conditioning system.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2016Date of Patent: July 14, 2020Assignee: Allied Air Enterprises LLCInventor: Hany Roman

Patent number: 9909778Abstract: A condensation trap comprising an inlet chamber configured to receive condensate liquid through a receiving opening therein. The trap also comprises an internal chamber in fluid communication with the inlet chamber via a first internal opening defined by a sidewall shared by the inlet chamber and the internal chamber, the first internal opening located at an opposite end of the inlet chamber from the receiving opening. The trap also comprises an outlet chamber in fluid communication with the internal chamber via a second internal opening located at an opposite end of the internal chamber from the first internal opening. The trap also comprises a bleed orifice located in a sidewall shared by the internal chamber and the outlet chamber, wherein at least a portion of the bleed orifice is lateral to first internal opening.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2014Date of Patent: March 6, 2018Assignee: Allied Air Enterprises LLCInventors: Mark Rakowski, Jeff Gedcke, Jody Smith, Stuart Still, Randy Palm, Hany Roman
