  • Publication number: 20250237292
Abstract: A modular transmission for an electric drive system that includes multiple individual drive modules configured to each provide two forward and two reverse gear ratios. The individual drive modules optionally include separate and distinct housings at least partially enclosing a planetary gearset. A shifting assembly is optionally included for each drive module that is operable to selectively couple the ring gear either to the carrier, the sun gear, or to ground to achieve two different gear ratios. Multiple drive modules may be coupled together using corresponding mount points of the housings thus allowing a transmission and drive system to be formulated quickly, or to be modified or repaired, without undue time and expense. An electric motor may be arranged upstream, or downstream of the multiple individual drive modules, or positioned between modules.

  • Patent number: 12301230
Abstract: A switch assembly configured to determine when input received from a switch is caused by proper actuation of the switch and should be accepted, or is caused instead by a fault in the switch or in the intervening circuitry and should be ignored and/or reported. The switch assembly optionally includes a logic circuit that is electrically connected to the switch. The logic circuit may provide power to the switch, for example, as a time varying signal, which may then be presented to the logic circuit as input when the switch is properly actuated. The logic circuit may then compare the input from the switch with the signal sent to the switch to determine if a fault is present, or if the switch is operating properly.

  • Publication number: 20250079938
Abstract: A system with a flow deflector that generally directs the flow of multiple fluids, such as lubricants and/or coolants, so as to reduce fluid flow collisions or other flow hinderances. With this system, motor temperatures are able to be more tightly controlled, with less power loss to heat. When used in an electric motor, the flow deflector baffles most of the oil from one side of the motor to enable the oil from a single side or end of the motor to flow unimpeded through a rotor-stator gap. The flow deflector is further shaped to guide fluid radially outwards towards the sump so as to further reduce interactions between the various oil flow paths.

  • Patent number: 12237971
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for initiating over-the-air (OTA) programming (together, OTAP) of a transmission control module (TCM) of a vehicle. In an embodiment, a TCM determines that an OTAP update is available, and responsively presents an update-ready indication via an operator interface of the vehicle, and thereafter determines whether each precondition in a set of one or more preconditions is satisfied, including a precondition that a valid initiate-update instruction has been received via the operator interface. If the TCM determines that each precondition in the set is satisfied, the TCM then responsively initiates installation of the OTAP update. If, however, the TCM determines that at least one precondition in the set is not satisfied, the TCM then responsively does not initiate installation of the OTAP update.
