  • Patent number: 4342367
Abstract: A folding tool bar apparatus for a farm implement having a hollow main frame and winged sections pivotally attached to each end thereof. The winged sections are pivotal between a first horizontally extended position and a second folded horizontal position above the hollow main frame and disposed 180.degree. from the first position. An actuation structure is provided for moving the winged section between the first and second positions and this actuation structure includes the first set of teeth attached to each end of the hollow main frame and the second set of teeth attached to each end of the winged section for meshing with the teeth on the ends of the hollow main frame. The bracket structure is pivotally attached to the first and second set of teeth on each end of the main frame and a lever arm is attached to the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4308714
Abstract: A machine for removing the top foliage of sugar beets having a frame with longitudinal side walls and a longitudinal center beam carrying three gear boxes. Rotor assemblies drivably connected to opposite sides of the gear boxes are rotatably mounted on the side walls. A PTO drive is connected to a main drive shaft located above the center beam. A chain and sprocket speed reducer surrounds the main beam and transmits power from the main drive shaft to drive shafts connected to the first and second gear boxes. The chain and sprocket speed reducer is located within a housing mounted on the main beam. The main beam extends through the housing. Each rotor has a cylindrical member carrying a splined sleeve that is mounted on a splined hub connected to an output shaft of a gear box. A bearing assembly mounts the outer end of each cylindrical member to a side wall. A plurality of flail carrying assemblies having flexible rubber flails are mounted on each cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 4049058
Abstract: A machine for lifting sugar beets from the soil, separating the soil and foreign matter from the sugar beets and elevating the sugar beets for loading on a transport vehicle. The machine has beet lifting wheels which lift the beets from the soil and direct the beets to link conveyors. The conveyors carry the beets to one end of a grab and cleaning roller assembly. The grab and cleaning roller assembly has a plurality of smooth and spiral ribbed rollers that are rotated to clean and move the beets the length of the roller assembly to a disc assembly. The disc assembly comprises a plurality of discs that are rotated in a direction to move the beets to the inlet area of a loading elevator. The loading elevator is independently supported on the ground with a wheel assembly. Adjusting structure is used to adjust the heighth of the elevator. Separate controlled hydraulic motors are operable to drive the conveyors, the disc assembly and the loading elevator.

  • Patent number: 4019755
Abstract: An earthworking implement mounted on a three-point hitch of a draft vehicle with a hitch assembly. The hitch assembly has members mounted in clamps secured to a main transverse beam. Two of these members include lower forward projecting portions and a third member therebetween has an upper forward projecting portion. The two lower portions are connected to a transverse bar, which is attached to the draft links of the three-point hitch. The upper portion is connected to the control link of the three-point hitch. These members are individually adjustable, whereby they may be adjusted to fit variations in structure of three-point hitches. A plurality of parallel linkages movably connect a transverse tool bar to the beam. Row guide units having guide and gauge wheels and furrowing tools are mounted with clamps to the tool bar. Earthworking tools, herbicide incorporators and seed planters can be mounted with clamps to the tool bar.

  • Patent number: 4002206
Abstract: An earthworking implement mounted on a three-point hitch of a draft vehicle with a hitch assembly. The hitch assembly has L-shaped members mounted in clamps secured to a main transverse beam. A plurality of parallel linkages movably connect a transverse tool bar to the beam. Row guide units having resilient rubber wheels and furrowing tools are mounted with clamps to the tool bar. Earthworking tools are mounted with clamps to the tool bar. In one form, the earthworking tool is a blade sequentially moved into and out of the soil with a lifting wheel to dig water-holding basins or trenches in the soil.
