  • Patent number: 7674089
Abstract: A device which is used to guide at least two flow media having different pressures with a shaft or similar force-transmitting element, and a pressure insulating element such as a housing surrounding the shaft or similar. Areas arranged next to each other in the direction of the axis are determined between the force-transmitting element and the pressure-insulating element by sealing elements; at least one of the preferably magnetofluidic sealing elements is leakage-free, and two areas for fluids (A, B) having different pressures flank an area for an auxiliary liquid (H), whereby said area is subdivided by a device into two partial areas for two different pressure areas. A conveying medium is allocated to the area at high pressure and ambient air is allocated to the area at low pressure. The auxiliary liquid (H) is a carrier oil of the magnetofluid, optionally a silicon oil, allocated to the sealing element.

  • Patent number: 6402462
Abstract: A centrifugal pump with a floating ring seal (34) provided in a sealing chamber (32) for pumped fluid and web-like flat pieces arranged in the sealing area (32) between the outer wall and the floating ring seal (34) extending in a longitudinal section approximately parallel to the pump shaft (14). At least one closable ventilation opening (47) is arranged in the head area of the sealing chamber (32), in addition to one blade-like flat piece (60, 60a) which is disposed on the peripheral wall (48) on both sides of the ventilation opening (47). From a cross-sectional point of view, both flat pieces (60, 60a) are inclined towards each other and define an antechamber with a slit (70) which is parallel to the pump shaft (14) at a distance from the peripheral wall. Preferably, the blade-like flat pieces (60, 60a) are fixed to the radial wall (55) and the free blade edge parallel thereto defines a radial slit with the other radial wall.

  • Patent number: 6255752
Abstract: The invention relates to a mounting for a turbo-machine rotor. Said mounting is characterized in that radial support of the rotor is assured by one or more permanent magnet bearings. One or more single-thrust sliding bearings provide axial support. The permanent magnet bearings also serve as a lifting device for the sliding surfaces of the hydrodynamic sliding bearings. A force, acting in the opposite direction from the axial force, is generated by axial displacement of the rotor-sided bearing elements of the permanent magnet bearing, in relation to the housing-sided bearing elements, counter to the direction of axial force. This force separates the sliding surfaces of the hydrodynamic sliding bearings from each other in the stopping phases of the rotor. Once it has come to a stop, and when it is in the starting and stopping phases, the rotor is guided by one or more sliding or rolling bearings.

  • Patent number: 6227829
Abstract: In an eccentric screw pump having a pump shaft which at one end is in the form of a hollow shaft mounted near a joint head or the like connecting portion and connected thereto, and which is fitted on to the output shaft of a pump drive and is connected thereto, the pump shaft and the output shaft are connected by a force-locking connection. There is also provided a clamping device which produces radial forces and which embraces the drive end of the pump shaft, said end being in the form of a hollow shaft. The clamping device is arranged near the end edge of the cylinder wall at a first support portion.

  • Patent number: 5375984
Abstract: In a peristaltic pump comprising a pump tube with elastically deformable wall, which pump tube is arranged in a pump housing at the bottom thereof and is fitted into the pump housing with a portion which is curved in a part-circular configuration around a shaft of a rotor within the wall of the peristaltic pump and at a radial spacing relative thereto, the cross-section of the pump tube being partially varied during the conveying operation by at least one member of the rotor which presses the pump tube in respect of cross-section against a support means, with a reduction in the internal volume, the rotor is formed dish-like from a rotor end portion and a rotor wall and the latter is directed towards the bottom of the pump housing, the shaft of the rotor being fitted directly to the end portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 5372486
Abstract: In a peristaltic pump having a pump tube with an elastically deformable wall, which tube is arranged in a pump housing and has externally accessible connection ends and is fitted into the pump housing with a region which is curved in part-circular configuration around a shaft of a rotor of the peristaltic pump and at a radial spacing from the shaft, the cross-section of which tube is variable by pressure rollers which project radially from the rotor and which press the pump tube at least in its curved region against a correspondingly curved fixed support, producing a reduction in the internal volume of the tube, the rotor (20) itself has mounting eyes or bores (52) for the roller spindle (54) of the pressure roller (58), which is mounted in the rotor interchangeably in an aligned pair of bores parallel to the shaft (18) of the rotor.
