Abstract: A case for a mobile device includes portion having a port configured to receive a power cord input, an aperture configured to receive an earbud, an electrical contact configured to engage a charging contact of the earbud, an electrical connection configured to engage the port with a power input port of the mobile device, and an electrical connection configured to engage the port with the electrical contact of the earbud.
Abstract: An electronic device housing includes one or more sidewalls configured to at least partially cover a face of a mobile electronic device, an aperture configured to receive an earbud, and an electrical connection such as a coil configured to engage with a power source and the earbud. When the earbud is positioned within the aperture and the power source is engaged with the electrical coil, the electrical connection will charge the earbud. An additional electrical connection may simultaneously charge the mobile electronic device.
Abstract: A mobile electronic device automatically receives an electrical charge from a proximate case that is equipped with a backup battery for the mobile device. The mobile device executes programming instructions that instruct its processor, when the mobile device is positioned proximate to the case, to identify a first trigger value and monitor a parameter of the mobile device to determine when the parameter reaches the first trigger value. Upon determining that the parameter reaches the first trigger value, the mobile device issue a command to cause a controller of the case to cause the case battery to discharge energy to the mobile device. The mobile device may also identify a second trigger value and issue a command to cause the controller to cause the case battery to stop discharging energy to the mobile device when the second trigger value is reached.
