  • Patent number: 5514855
Abstract: An adapter device, for use with a standard personal computer having affixed thereto a keyboard, is comprised of a molded rigid panel which is provided with a plurality of over-sized keys. The adapter is intended to simplify standard personal computer input methods by providing an input devise with a fewer number of Adapter keys than a standard keyboard. The adapter keys are also larger than standard keys. Raised spines on the under side of the adapter secure the adapter to a standard computer keyboard. Each of the keys on the adapter are attached via hinge along one side of the key. Depressing any of the adapter keys will cause that adapter key to contact the keys of host keyboard in a prescribed manner. An accompanying simplified software program is installed on the personal computer to work in conjunction with the adapter.

  • Patent number: 5493608
Abstract: A interactive voice response system that automatically adapts to suit the speed at which the caller interacts with the system. The caller interacts with the system utilizing the keypad buttons on a DTMF-type telephone or by speaking verbal instructions over any type of telephone, and hears spoken instructions and information over the telephone in response to those entries. The system is programmed to measure the response times of the caller and adjust the playing speed of the application dialogue's voice messages accordingly using a caller adaptive response algorithm incorporated into the application software of the voice response system. If the caller is responding relatively fast and without error to the voice message prompts, the caller adaptive response algorithm software will gradually speed up subsequent voice message prompts to a preset, reasonable maximum speech rate.

  • Patent number: 5398927
Abstract: A divot repair tool is permanently affixed to the bottom of a flag pin and replaces a standard ferrule. A plunging motion is employed by a user of the divot repair tool. From a standing position, the user grasps the shaft of the flag pin and directs it downward thus causing the divot repair tool to contact the turf in the area of the divot. An outer cylindrical sleeve first contacts the turf and is followed by a blade which is rotated and thrust downward by an internal mechanism. The action of the divot repair tool causes the turf and under lying soil of the divot area to be loosened thus promoting the recovery of the divot area.
